Kharkhoda Plant: A Game-Changer for Maruti Suzuki

The first phase of the Kharkhoda plant has been launched with an initial production capacity of 250,000 units per year. This facility is part of Maruti Suzuki’s long-term vision to increase its total production capacity to 4 million (40 lakh) units annually by 2030.

How Maruti Suzuki’s Kharkhoda Plant Boosts Production

The Kharkhoda plant joins Maruti Suzuki’s three other major manufacturing plants across India. Here’s a look at each of them:

1. Gujarat (Hansalpur Plant) – Established in 2017
Owned by Suzuki Motor Gujarat, this plant produces around 7.5 lakh (750,000) cars per year and serves as a major export hub for models like Baleno, Swift, and Dzire.

2. Manesar Plant (Operational since 2007)
Built to support the Gurugram facility, this plant has a capacity of 8.8 lakh (880,000) units annually and manufactures best-selling cars like the Swift, Dzire, Baleno, and Ciaz.

3. Gurugram Plant (Established in 1983)
This was Maruti Suzuki’s first production site in India. With three assembly lines, it produces 7 lakh (700,000) cars annually, including popular models like Alto, WagonR, S-Presso, and Ertiga.
