In terms of design, the MPV is not very similar to the existing Ertiga. The major difference is in the front where it features a larger grill with chrome detailing, new full LED headlamps with LED fog lamps a faux skid-plate and a chunkier bumper. At the rear, the change is in bumper getting a faux-skid plate with cladding. Maruti offers six colour options – Nexa Blue, Brave Khaki, Auburn Red, Magma Grey, Premium Silver and Arctic White.

The interior gets an all-black theme, which is different from the beige seen in the Ertiga.

In terms of equipment, the both XL6 variants get Maruti’s new SmartPlay Studio infotainment unit, which comprises a 7.0-inch touchscreen display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, LED DRLs, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, automatic climate control, rear air-con vents, cruise control and height adjustment for the driver’s seat. The top-spec Alpha variant additionally gets automatic headlamps and a rear parking camera. Safety equipment consists of dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, seatbelt for driver and co-driver and a speed warning system.

The XL6 is powered with Maruti’s homemade naturally-aspirated petrol engine that also powers Ciaz sedan and the standard Ertiga. The engine produces 105 bhp and 138Nm of torque; it is BS6-compliant and equipped with Mariti’s SHVS mild-hybrid technology, which aids fuel efficiency. The engine is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The XL6 will be sold via NEXA dealerships.
