The birth anniversary of Hanuman Ji (Hanuman) is celebrated across the country as Hanuman Jayanti. It is believed that Shree Hanuman was born as the 11th incarnation of Shiva from the womb of Mata Anjana. There is a special recognition of Hanuman Jayanti in Hindus. In Hindu beliefs, Shree Hanuman is considered to be the most powerful and strong. Now, as due to coronavirus, all the temples have been closed, the devotees should worship and obey their prayers at home to Lord Hanuman. In such a situation, worship Lord Hanuman at home. Light a lamp and recite Hanuman Chalisa and Sundarkand path for the well being of everyone.

Though Lord Hanuman is considered to be an ardent devotee of Lord Rama and we should learn how to be an obedient server to the mighty but apart from this, there are some other qualities of Lord Hanuman that we should try to imbibe in our life. These qualities are:

RAM NAVMI 2020

In Hinduism, Shukla Paksha Navami of Chaitra month is considered as the festival of Ram Navami. On this day Lord Rama, the 7th incarnation of Lord Vishnu, was born. This year the festival of Ram Navami is on 2 April. According to Hindu scriptures, Lord Vishnu incarnated as Shri Rama born in Tretayuga to end the atrocities of Ravana and to re-establish religion. With this festival, the Navratri of Maa Durga also ends. People send wishes and greetings to family and friends on Ram Navmi.

There is a curfew in many places due to the coronavirus epidemic in India, while entire India is under lockdown till 14 April. All temples have been closed. In such a situation, it is difficult to celebrate Ram Navmi in temples. People have to celebrate the festival at home under being quarantine. It is considered significant to read Ram Navmi Katha on Ram Navmi.

Ram Navmi Katha

According to Hindu scripture Ramayana, Lord Rama was born on this day, so the devotees celebrate this auspicious day as Ram Navami. According to the epic Ramayana, King Dasaratha of Ayodhya had three wives but for a long time, no queen was able to give children to Dasaratha. Due to which King Dasharatha was very upset. In order to have a son, Rishi Vashistha gave the idea to King Dasharatha to perform a Putreshti Yajna.

After finishing the Yagna, Maharishi gave a bowl of kheer to the three wives of Dasharatha. All three queens became pregnant only a few months after eating kheer. 9 months later King Dasharatha’s eldest queen Kaushalya gave birth to Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Kaikayi to Bharata and Sumitra gave birth to twins Lakshmana and Shatrughna.
The post Ram Navmi 2020: Take Blessings at home due to corona first appeared on Jugaadin News .

The festivals celebrated in India give the message of the victory of good over evil in one way or the other but the festival which is known for this message is Dussehra that comes exactly twenty days before Diwali. According to the Panchag, the Dashami of the Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month is celebrated all over the country as Vijayadashami or Dussehra. Dussehra is one of the major festivals of Hindus.

This festival tells the story of Lord Shri Rama, who killed the Demon king Ravana after 9 days of continuous war in Lanka and freed Mata Sita from his captivity. On this day, Maa Durga also killed Mahishasura, hence it is also celebrated as Vijayadashami and Mata Durga is also worshiped. On this day effigies of Ravana, his brother Kumbhakarna and son Meghnad are burnt. This year, the auspicious Vijaya Dashami is on 8 October 2019.

There are some places in India of which the Dussehra celebration is quite famous and worth watching. Dussehra of Kullu in Himachal and Mysuru in Karnataka. Here Dussehra is celebrated with huge pomp and fervor. The biggest attraction in Mysuru Dasara is the elephant procession which attracts tourists from all over the world.
The post Dussehra: a festival that marked the victory of good over evil first appeared on Jugaadin News .

An important and most auspicious festival of Indian society, Diwali is now here. Diwali, a day of lightning lamps, burning crackers and prayers. Different religious communities like Hindus, Sikhs and Jains celebrate this festival for different reasons but the main motive behind all is same i.e victory of good over evil , light over darkness. In Sanskrit, deepawali means Avali (Row) of Deep (Clay lamps). People light diyas to remove the darkness of lunar night (Amavasya) at the exterior of their homes, shops, temples etc.

The festival lasts five days as Dhanteras, Choti Diwali, Diwali, Govers tha actdhan and Bhai dooj. The third day is the actual day when Goddess Lakshami is worshiped and this year it falls on 07.11.18. Celebrants clean, renovate and decorate their homes, offices and temples. They adorn themselves in their best outfit for the occasion and light the diyas and candles outside and inside of their homes and workplace. They pray to goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha for wealth and prosperity and after that share burn crackers and share gifts with their loved ones.

India is a country of diversity. Various religions of Indian subcontinent celebrate Diwali for different reasons. Hindus believe that when Lord Ram defeated Ravana and returned to Ayodhaya after 14 years of exile, people welcomed them with lightning diyas and hence diwali is celebrated. Another believe of hindus is related to deity Lakshmi who is giver of wealth and prosperity. They worship lakshmi and lord Ganesha as he is the remover of all obstacles. In Jainism, it marks the nirvana or spiritual awakening of Lord Mahavira on October 15, 527 B.C. In Sikhism it marks the day that Guru Hargobind Ji, the Sixth Sikh Guru was freed from imprisonment.

The following day is celebrated as new year when people visited each other houses and wished them for the season. The fifth day is celebrated as Bhai Dooj when sisters do tilak to their brothers and pray for their long life.
The five day festival is an annual homecoming and bonding period not only for families, but also for communities and associations.

The post DIWALI: A festival of removing Darkness first appeared on Jugaadin News .
