										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Day of Silence <strong>is the </strong>GLSEN&#8217;s annual day <strong>to increase awareness </strong>about <strong>the effects </strong>of the <strong>harassment and discrimination of LGBTQ students</strong>. Students take a vow of silence to protest the harmful effects of discrimination and harassment of LGBTQ students in schools. Day of silence is a student-led movement that protests harassment of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students.</p>



<p>The D<strong>ay of Silence held in April from 1996</strong> <strong>every year</strong>. Since 2011, the Day of Silence was <strong>celebrated on </strong>the <strong>second Friday in April</strong>, except in 2018, when <strong>it had been </strong>recognized on <strong>Friday, April 27</strong>. This year we are celebrating the <strong>25th anniversary</strong> of Day of Silence on <strong>Friday, April 24, 2020</strong>, and due to lockdown conditions arises because of coronavirus, the event is going to be held virtual.  </p>
