The joint Admission test for Masters (JAM) has been established as a benchmark for undergraduate level science education in the country since 2004 – 05. The objective of JAM is to provide admissions to Post-Graduate Degree Programs. JAM Scores are used for admission to programs such as M.Sc., M.Sc. (Tech), M.Sc.- M.Tech. Dual Degree, MS (R), Joint M.Sc. – Ph.D., M.Sc. – Ph.D. Dual Degree, and Integrated Ph.D in various institutes.

JAM 2024 is a Computer Based Test to be conducted in SEVEN Test Papers at the undergraduate level. Test Papers will have three objective types of questions: (i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NATs)Questions.

Candidates qualifying in JAM 2024 are eligible to apply for admission to over 3000 seats in IITs for the academic year 2024-25. No additional evaluation process, such as a suitability test or interview is required for admission to the programs in Admitting Institutes under JAM 2024. JAM 2024 Scores will be used for admission to over 2000 seats for IISc and counseling through CCMN.

The last date to apply for JAM 2024 is October 13, 2023 (Friday) and the final examination date will be February 11, 2024 (Sunday).

Candidates can apply for JAM 2024 only through JAM Online Application Processing System

(JOAPS) available through https:// https://jam.iitm.ac.in/ from September 5, 2023 to October 13, 2023.

Candidates have to first register on JOAPS, by providing their name, a valid e-mail address, an active mobile number and setting a password.

According to the official website, The sequence of questions and options in the question paper found on the candidate’s response sheet may differ from the one posted here. The answer keys are open to challenge during March 1-3, 2021 by paying a fee of ₹500 per question through the JOAPS portal. The question number and answer mentioned in the challenge must be according to the question paper posted on this webpage and not the one found on the candidate’s response sheet. Candidates challenging the answer key must also provide a detailed answer to the question. The fee of ₹500 will be refunded only if a challenge is found to be valid. The final answer key will be available on this webpage in the third week of March 2021.

About JAM 2021

JAM 2021 Examination conducted ONLINE only as a Computer Based Test (CBT). JAM 2021 will have seven Test Papers, namely, (i) Biotechnology (BT), (ii) Chemistry (CY), (iii) Economics (EN), (iv) Geology (GG), (v) Mathematics (MA), (vi) Mathematical Sciences (MS) and (vii) Physics (PH) and Economics (EN) paper are added new this year. All the seven Test Papers of JAM 2021 were of entirely objective type, with three different patterns of questions, namely (i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
