World Tourism Day is celebrated every year on 27 September. This time the theme of World Tourism Day is “Tourism and jobs: a better future for all”. This year India is going to host the World Tourism Day 2019. The purpose of celebrating World Tourism Day is to raise awareness about the role of tourism around the world and to promote social, cultural, political and economic values. This day can help in increasing mutual understanding among people all over the world.

Why is World Tourism Day celebrated?

World Tourism Day was started in view of the importance and popularity of tourism. United Nations world tourism organization gives every year a new theme to World Tourism Day to make people aware of tourism around the world. The United Nations decided to celebrate September 27, 1980, as World Tourism Day. The day of September 27 was chosen for World Tourism Day because the Constitution of the World Tourism Organization was accepted on this day in 1970.

India is famous all over the world for its historical and natural beauty. The country is continuously increasing in the field of tourism. More than 1 crore foreign tourists come here every year. According to the Ministry of Tourism, the number of foreign tourists coming to India has increased. One crore sixty-five lakh tourists visited India in 2018.

On the occasion of world tourism day 2019, the Secretary-General, UNWTO said that Tourism can help us build a better future for everyone. Around the world, the tourism sector is the leading source of employment, supporting many millions of jobs and driving economies forward, both at the local and the national level.
The post World Tourism Day: Why tourism day is celebrated? first appeared on Jugaadin News .

Relaxing amidst the natural beauty, this is no less than a luxury feeling. The wide coastline and a series of coconut and banana trees make this place special.

This place Gokarna is situated in a region of rivers that looks like a cow’s ear, and perhaps the name of this place is named Gokarna. Mahabaleshwar Shiva Temple located in Gokarna is the most important pilgrimage center which is a major center of attraction for all tourists visiting here. The beach of Gokarna is very popular especially among the youth, tourists come to have fun.

Gokarna Beach

View of sunset at Gokarna
Pic Credit: Google

Gokarna Beach, based on the name of Gokarna, is the main beach of the city, which attracts a large number of tourists from India and abroad. Not only tourists come to visit this beach, but also pilgrims who visit the Mahabaleshwar temple come. It is believed that only after taking a dip in this beach you can enter the temple to worship Lord Shiva.

Om beach

OM Beach
Pic Credit: Google

This beach is quite special because ‘Om‘ is associated which is the most sacred letter of its Hindu religion. This beach is named Om Beach because its shape is like ‘Om’. The climate of this beach is quite calm which is very much liked by the tourists. Apart from this, the place is also suitable for an adventure such as swimming.

Half- Moon beach

About 20 minutes away from Om Beach, Half Moon Beach is a beautiful and serene beach which serves to attract tourists to a large extent. The coast is half-moon shaped and hence it is named Half Moon.

Paradise Beach

Paradise Beach, situated towards the south direction from Half Moon Beach, is another beautiful beach of Gokarna where you can plan a trip. It is a pollution-free coast where one can feel the fresh air. Since it is a rocky beach, it can be difficult for you to swim.

Kudle beach

Kudle beach is considered to be the largest of all the beaches here and is most crowded during November to February.
The post Gokarna: Visit to view palms, beaches, and temple first appeared on Jugaadin News .
