Holi means happiness, enjoyment and glee. In the fun of Phalgun, the Earth turns to Abhir, Gulal, roli and sandalwood flavor. Nature reflects the spring shade and summer’s haste on this festival. On this festival, children apply colors and drop water balloons on each other. Homemade ravishing sweets and finger- licking dishes make the festival more enjoyable. This year Holi is going to celebrate on 21st March, 2019. Various stories and beliefs are there regarding the festival of Holi. The most popular belief is that Holika, the sister of Hiranyakashipu who was blessed to have immunity to fire. Prahald, the son of Hriyanakashipu was the devotee of lord Vishnu but his father was against this. He tried to explain and scared Prahlad but he was firm on his belief. Then, he told his sister Holika to enter in fire with Prahlad in her lap. Lord Vishnu save Prahlad from burning and Holika get burnt in it. Thus, Holi is celebrated as a festival of victory of good over evil.
