Giving information through its blog post, Facebook has stated that GIPHY will get support in Instagram in the photo-sharing app. However, no information has been given on how much Facebook has paid to buy GIPHY. It the final, the deal between Facebook and Giphy disclosed at $400 Million.

Facebook has shared information about the acquisition of GIPHY through its official blog and it has been said that GIPHY will get Instagram support. With this, the company has added more than 100 GIPHY employees. After this deal, Instagram users will easily get GIF and stickers for their stories and messages, which will make the messages more special.

The company says that ‘Our community knows and likes GIPHY first. Even 50 per cent of GIPHY comes from the Facebook community. By bringing Instagram and GIPHY together, we can make it easier for people to find better GIFs and stickers in stories and direct sharing, for sharing GIF on Facebook, it has to be downloaded separately.

In the blog, the company also added that ‘We have used GIPHY’s API not only in Instagram but also in Facebook app, Messenger and WhatsApp. There will be no changes to GIPHY’s library and we are eager to invest with its technology, content and API partners. People will still be able to upload GIFs. Developers and API partners will continue to have equal access to GIPHY’s APIs. Also and the creative community of GIPHY will still create great content.

The company also shared a tweet about this information on its official twitter handle

Basically, Tech Together is an online one-stop platform of collection of useful resources to help those individuals who are experiencing substance disorder or battling from the addiction of drug overdose and alcohol. This platform offers all types of substantial information for families and individuals looking for support and resources to cope up with substance disorder at any stage.

The executive director of CSIP Marjorie Clifton said in a statement that, this helping platform is in partnership with numerous national non-profits corporations who are involved in the recovery efforts and includes a collection of technology tools and resources provided by Twitter, Google, and Facebook to share information and put tools and communities in front of people looking for support.”

Clifton also adds that this site will be promoted on Facebook, Twitter, and Google to reach those individuals who are in very need of support and resources to tackle their disorders.

Research showed that people use online technology to connect with other people and support each other. This online intervention leads to recovery from substance disorder. So, Tech Together will be an excellent platform to find support and resources regarding the disorder and drug overdose.
The post Facebook, Twitter, and Google join hands to offer support to drug addiction recovery first appeared on Jugaadin News .

Facebook on 22 April, Wednesday announced an investment of USD 5.7 billion (Rs 43,574 crore) to buy a 9.99% stake in Mukesh Ambani’s telecom Reliance Jio. This is the largest investment for a minority stake by a technology company anywhere in the world and the largest FDI within the Indian tech sector. According to the current lockdown situation, many entrepreneurs need digital tools to communicate with customers and growing their businesses. This is how Facebook and Jio deal will help people and businesses in India to create new commerce opportunities across India. Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani said everyone at Reliance is “humbled by the opportunity to welcome Facebook as our long-term partner in continuing to grow and transform the digital ecosystem of India” and can help in fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi Digital India mission dream.

Shri Mukesh D.

Why Facebook is spending millions for a minority stake in Jio

With Jio’s 388 million customers, Facebook will help people and businesses to operate more effectively in this digital world. For example, by connecting JioMart, Jio’s small business initiative, with the power of WhatsApp, Facebook can enable people to connect with businesses. Facebook also owns a minority stake in other Indian companies such as Meesho a social commerce company and Unacademy, an online education startup. For Facebook, India has emerged as an important market in recent years. India has more users of Facebook than any other country. The deal will help reduce RIL’s debt burden, which has emerged because of the rapid expansion of Jio and other businesses.

Everything you need to know about the partnership between @Facebook and Jio in 4 points.
Full video here: https://t.co/qm3YpTLWVe#WithLoveFromJio #RelianceJio #MukeshAmbani #MarkZuckerberg #Facebook #JioDigitalLife pic.twitter.com/29xR3s2pIU
— Reliance Jio (@reliancejio) April 23, 2020

How Jio and Facebook can work together to make an invasion in India’s internet

1.Virtual Reality (VR)

Facebook was the first company to make consumer VR headset Oculus. Jio already has tied its both virtual and augmented reality (AR) experiences with its broadband service. Jio could add Oculus into this to enhance the worth proposition.

2. Video Streaming

India’s video streaming market is expected to grow to 488 million viewers by 2022. Facebook and Jio have their video streaming platform. While Facebook has its live video streaming platform and Jio has Jiomovies platform only available to Jio subscribers for free. Both the platform Facebook and Jio can enhance the offerings of one another and use their partnership to capitalize on this growth.

3. Payments

Both Facebook and Jio are involved in the payment space. While Jio has the JioMoney application, Facebook is awaiting regulatory approval to enable digital payments in India through WhatsApp which is a UPI-based payments application. However, Facebook is also working on the Libra cryptocurrency service. It is expected that Facebook can bring libra to India for experimenting with cryptocurrency payment on a large scale.

Wake up call for amazon and Flipkart

The nationwide lockdown has exposed the weaknesses of the e-commerce businesses, while neighborhood kiranas stores offer better service to customers. Facebook and RIL, the first collaboration will happen over the reliance e-commerce venture JioMart. Jiomart to use WhatsApp’s business features to quickly bring local Kirana stores on board to reach out to customers and to help 60 million small businesses in India. This deal will be a wake-up call for amazon and Flipkart. As they need to review their business model or logistics services to fulfill the grocery demand. The Jio-Facebook deal is an attempt to marry the local commerce with the social part and to hold the trend, and eventually, this will be a lift to the Facebook ad platform as well.
The post Facebook Buys a 9.99% stake in Reliance Jio at Rs 43,574 crore first appeared on Jugaadin News .

According to the Google Play Store, South Korea was the fastest-growing WhatsApp market, with the mobile messaging app. Downloads have increased by almost 56 per cent in 2019. Additionally, for the first time in five years, Google has not chosen Facebook as the best publisher of mobile processors.

Analytics firm Sensor Tower recently
revealed that Google collected more than 850 million downloads in the last
quarter of 2019, compared to Facebook’s nearly 800 million. In terms of overall
downloads for the year, Google still lags behind Facebook.

While Google received nearly 2.3 billion
downloads, Facebook received nearly 3 billion downloads in the last 12 months. Of
the top five most downloaded applications worldwide, four holds by Facebook:
WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and Messenger.

To create an Instagram account, now new users will need to tell their date of birth i.e. date of birth. Instagram has included this new rule in its app, saying that now users below 13 years of age will not be able to use this app. Because of this, it will be necessary to tell the users their date of birth. If the date of birth of the users will be less than 13 years while opening the account, then their account will not open.

Instagram implemented this new law with the
aim of following US law. For this reason, it is very important to be at least
13 years of age to open an Instagram account. After implementing this rule,
Instagram said in a blog that the purpose of implementing it is to keep younger
users away from the reach of Instagram. The company said that because of this
rule, children will stay away from Instagram content and safe. Apart from this,
knowing the age will allow Instagram users to experience the content according
to their age.
The post Instagram will now ask your date of birth first appeared on Jugaadin News .
