In the event Rashtriya Khel Mahotsav held at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium, Delhi, the organizing committee felicitated Udit Kunj Foundation NGO’s President Kulbir Singh and Gayatri Rural Development Society’s head Bhoop Singh Sehrawat for their contribution to drug addiction. The two organizations are working together for making drug-free Haryana.

Under their Aagaaz Anti Drug Yatra, Udit Kunj foundation and Gayatri rural Development society have covered many villages and cities of Haryana. With their motivation, hundreds of young people have taken an oath not to take drugs and to utilize their time in sports activities.

Every year, Rashtriya Khel Mahotsav is being organized to motivate people for the pro-sports league on all India levels and also social organizations and NGOs that are working on anti-drug activity are honoured. This year it was the 19th edition of the Rashtriya Khel Mahotsav.

Today’s youth is very much indulged in drugs and to fulfil their daily need for drugs, they do any kind of crime. The crime rate will reduce only when the root cause, i.e. drug addiction would weed out. That’s why, to aware of drug abuse, the anti-drug Yatra will reach the village Rajli at 06:00 PM.

The Yatra will be held under the aegis of NGO President, Kulbir Singh.  According to Kulbir Singh, President of Udit Kunj Foundation, the main aim of the Aagaaz is to make Haryana drug-free.

On March 27, the Udit Kunj Foundation- one of the best NGO in Haryana launched its Anti-drug Yatra Aagaaz at Kaithal. The Yatra’s purpose is to aware youth of drug abuse. Drug addiction has become a stigma nowadays and youth for short-term enjoyment & relaxation, are becoming addicted to drugs.

Kulbir Singh, President, of Udit Kunj Foundation and keynote speaker of the day addressed the village people. He said Today’s youth is indulging in drugs. School students are the soft targets for drug dealers.  The reason behind youth falling for drugs is mainly peer pressure and stress. Drug addiction is not a disease, it’s a habit. The one who is addicted wants to come out of this, but is not able to afford the rehab treatment or the medicines that are required for an initial couple of months.

That’s why, we’ve launched this anti-drug Yatra- Aagaaz, in which we are spreading awareness to different districts of Haryana and also providing rehabilitation services to drug addicts, he mentioned.

According to Kulbir, the main aim of the campaign is to make Haryana drug-free. Also, attendees took an oath not to take drugs in their life.

In the village, Mahesh and Sonu, the youth partners of Udit Kunj Foundation, organized the program. Kulbir Singh, the national president of the organization, reached as the keynote speaker. He was given a grand welcome by all the villagers. Senior member of the organization Praveen Kumar conducted the program.

Kulbir Singh apprised the villagers about the growing problem of drugs and told the youth how to avoid it. He promised all possible help to those who have become addicted to drugs.

In the end, he also sought suggestions from the villagers regarding this campaign, on which the young friends gave very good suggestions. Master Sandeep on behalf of villagers thanked the Aagaaz Yatra on reaching the village and called it very beneficial for the younger generation. He also has formed a team of 20 members from the village who will work and associate with Udit Kunj foundation.
