<p class="has-medium-font-size">The ministry has asked <strong>phone companies</strong> to block these <strong>Chinese applications</strong>. The move within the backdrop of a <strong>current stand-off along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh with Chinese troops</strong>. Criticism and backlash from <strong>Indian Citizens against Chinese applications and products</strong> have been ongoing. Indian intelligence agencies had been pushing for restrictions on mobile applications on grounds that the apps were designed to <strong>extract data and are used to invade the privacy of citizens.</strong></p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">The Ministry of IT has received several reports about the misuse of some mobile apps available on&nbsp;<strong>Andriod and iOS&nbsp;platforms</strong> for <strong>swiping and secretly transmitting users data.</strong></p>
