Everyone knows that if they play in Bangladesh, they will get a turning track. We see Bangladesh struggling outside Bangladesh — this is the only reason. The pitch was so bad that the West Indies bowled all 50 overs with spinners.

Bangladesh started slowly, respecting the conditions, but Saif Hasan got out early on Akeal Hosein’s ball. Soumya Sarkar scored 45 runs, but he also got out on Akeal’s ball. Everyone contributed a little bit; Miraz did not out on 32, and at the end of the innings, Rishad Hossain scored some crucial runs with a strike rate of 278.57 — 39 runs in just 14 balls on that difficult track.

Akeal Hosein and Alick Athanaze picked 2 wickets each. Motie took 3 wickets. Bangladesh put up a total of 213-7.

The West Indies’ start was shaky. Brandon King got out on his first ball. Alick and Keacy stabilised the innings, but after that, the West Indies lost quick wickets. At one point, the West Indies were on 137-7. But Shai Hope and Justin Greaves didn’t lose hope and built a partnership. Justin got run out on 26 runs, but Shai Hope continued with the bat.

The match went into final-over drama. West Indies needed 5 runs, and Bangladesh needed 2 wickets. Saif Hasan bowled the final over. The first 2 balls were dots, then 2 singles. Akeal Hosein got bowled on the 5th ball of the over, and suddenly the match turned towards Bangladesh. Khary made 2 runs on the final ball, and the match went into the Super Over.

Shai Hope and Rutherford came for the Super Over, and Bangladesh chose a fast bowler on this track to bowl. Mustafizur Rahman bowled the Super Over. The West Indies scored 10 runs.

Soumya Sarkar and Saif Hasan came for the Super Over, and Akeal Hosein bowled. Akeal bowled a wide and a no-ball in the first 2 deliveries, but he managed to bowl some good balls after that, and West Indies won by 1 run.

Pakistan Women faced England Women in the ICC Women’s World Cup at Colombo on 15 October.

Pakistan Women won the toss and opted to bowl first. Diana Baig picked the wicket of Tammy Beaumont in the second over. Both openers were sent to the dugout within the first three overs. Fatima Sana bowled out Amy Jones in the third over. Fatima Sana struck again, this time she bowled the English captain Nat Sciver-Brunt. In that same over, Fatima also dismissed the previous captain, Heather Knight.

Charlie Dean and Em Arlott added some runs towards the end. Overs were reduced to 31 due to rain at regular intervals. But 133 runs in 31 overs is not a good total for sure.

The revised DLS target for Pakistan was 113, which was less than 4 runs per over. Pakistan started very well — a comfortable start, knowing they could chase easily if they didn’t lose wickets. They were doing well, but rain interrupted them again.

Pakistan was so near yet so far. They knew they could create history, but the match was called off and the points were split between both teams.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) claimed a commanding 8-wicket win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in a thrilling high-scoring encounter at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Match 27 of the TATA IPL 2025. The standout performer of the night was Abhishek Sharma, whose blistering 141 off 55 balls led SRH to chase down a mammoth total of 246, one of the most memorable run-chases in IPL history.

https://www.iplt20.com/news/4157/tata-ipl-2025-match-27-srh-vs-pbks-match-report

IPL 2025: Abhishek Sharma’s Record-Breaking Knock Powers SRH to Historic Victory

Abhishek Sharma’s breathtaking innings was the highlight of the chase. His knock of 141 runs, which included 14 boundaries and 10 sixes, set a new record for the highest score by an Indian in IPL history, surpassing KL Rahul’s previous record. Abhishek’s stunning century came off just 40 balls, the fastest-ever by a Hyderabad batter and the quickest against Punjab Kings. His explosive performance, coupled with Travis Head’s blistering 66 off 37 balls, helped SRH achieve the highest successful run-chase in IPL history.

IPL 2025: Travi-Shek Duo Sets the Stage for a Record-Breaking Chase

The SRH chase began with intent as Abhishek and Travis Head, nicknamed the ‘Travi-Shek’ duo, came out all guns blazing. The pair put on a record-breaking opening partnership of 171 runs, the highest of IPL 2025. They brought up a 50-run stand in just 3 overs, SRH’s first fifty-run opening partnership of the season. Abhishek was in scintillating form, reaching his fifty in just 16 deliveries, the fastest-ever by a Sunrisers batter. Head, not far behind, scored his second half-century of the season with two towering sixes off Glenn Maxwell.

Head’s Contribution and Early Breakthrough for PBKS

While Head was dismissed for a quickfire 66 off 37 balls by Yuzvendra Chahal, Abhishek continued to dominate. SRH reached 83/0 at the end of the powerplay, and the pair had set the stage for one of the most incredible chases in IPL history. Head’s timely contribution was crucial, setting the foundation for the chase and providing excellent support to Abhishek.

IPL 2025: Punjab Kings’ Explosive Start and Early Momentum

Earlier, Punjab Kings opted to bat first and got off to a fiery start. Prabhsimran Singh hammered a hat-trick of boundaries off Mohammed Shami in the first over, while Priyansh Arya, fresh off a century in the previous game, kept the momentum going with aggressive strokes. The duo helped PBKS reach the fastest fifty-run opening stand of the season in just the third over.

Harshal Patel Pulls Back for SRH with Key Breakthroughs

Though PBKS started explosively, Harshal Patel played a crucial role in stemming the flow of runs. He removed Arya for 36 off 13 balls, bringing SRH back into the game. Captain Shreyas Iyer, who joined Prabhsimran, continued to guide PBKS to a formidable total, with the team reaching 89/1 at the end of the powerplay, their second-highest score in IPL history.

Shreyas Iyer’s Storming Half-Century and Quick Wickets for SRH

Shreyas Iyer continued his assault, racing to a 22-ball half-century, his quickest in the IPL. However, SRH clawed back with quick wickets, including the dismissal of Prabhsimran (42) by debutant Eshan Malinga. Shreyas eventually fell for a brilliant 82 off 36 balls, and SRH managed to contain PBKS’s scoring in the middle overs.

Marcus Stoinis’ Explosive Finish Lifts PBKS to 245/6

In the final overs, Marcus Stoinis provided the finishing touch, blasting four sixes off Shami in the last over to finish unbeaten on 34 off 11 balls. This thrilling end helped PBKS post a mammoth total of 245/6, setting a daunting target for SRH.

SRH’s Historic Chase Sees Abhishek Sharma Shine

Abhishek Sharma’s dazzling performance ensured that SRH comfortably crossed the line, achieving the highest successful run-chase in IPL history with 9 balls to spare. His match-winning 141-run knock was the key factor in SRH’s commanding 8-wicket victory. Abhishek was rightly adjudged the Player of the Match for his extraordinary batting display.

The match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings was a spectacle of explosive batting, with Abhishek Sharma’s record-breaking knock taking center stage. His brilliance, coupled with Head’s aggressive batting, ensured that SRH chased down the daunting target of 246 with ease. The victory was a testament to the fearless batting of the SRH openers and their historic chase, which will be remembered as one of the greatest moments in IPL history.
The post Sunrisers Hyderabad Secure Dominant 8-Wicket Victory Over Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 first appeared on Jugaadin News .

Cricket is an extremely popular sport all around the world, especially in the Commonwealth countries.. Players also have a huge fan base all over the world. The competitive nature of Cricket makes it more interesting to watch. There have been many instances where situations have led to extraordinary records being made and then broken. So, here we look upon some mind blowing facts about Cricket.

1.Ravichandran Ashwin

He is the only player to dismiss all opposition players in a test series. He achieved this unique landmark in 2013 in the test series against Australia which was held in India. Ashwin took 29 wickets in 4 matches. Australia had used 16 players in 4 test matches during that series which were all dismissed by Ashwin once or more than once.

Ravichandran Ashwin – Mind Blowing Facts about Cricket | Image Source: Google

2. Shahid Afridi

Shahid Afridi played 398 One-Day International matches, where he scored 8064 runs with the help of 6 centuries and 39 half centuries. But he had never played 100 balls in an innings. Highest number of balls faced by him was 94 in an innings of 124 runs.

3. Sharjah Stadium

This stadium in UAE has hosted most no. of International ODI matches till this date (240 ODIs). People perceive that it would be Lord’s or MCC, but it is Sharjah Stadium.

4. Muttiah Muralitharan

He is the player who has bowled the most no. of maiden overs in international cricket. He has bowled 1994 maiden overs (which means 11964 bowls). Muralidharan is also the only test player to take 800 wickets in his career.

5. Ryan Ten Doeschate

He has the highest cricket ODI average which is 67.00 playing for Netherlands. The second highest ODI average is of Virat Kohli which is 59.33. Presently, no one looks even near to him.

6. Cricket in Olympics

Cricket was included in the Olympics only twice. The first time being in 1896 in the Athens Olympics. But that year competition didn’t occur because there were not enough teams to compete. The second time was in 1900 at the Paris Olympics. In that also, only two teams could compete- Great Britain and France. Great Britain won the Gold Medal.

7. Ishant’s Unfortunate Record

Ishant Sharma has unfortunately played a key role (Not only with the ball) in all the three highest individual scores made by batsmen against India in the 21st century till now. Alistair Cook made 294 runs in 2011, Michael Clarke made 329* runs in 2012 and Brendon McCullum made 302 runs in 2014. In these Innings, Ishant dropped them all in the early phase of their Innings which in turn helped them to reach the scores.

8. David Warner

He holds a rare record. David Warner is the only Australian cricketer in the past 100 years of cricket history, who played his first international cricket match in 2009 without playing even a single first class match before that.

9. Bapu Nadkarni’s Economy Bowling

In a test match against England in 1964, Bapu Nadkarni achieved an astonishing feat. Well known for bowling accurate line which didn’t let batsmen to score against him, Nadkarni’s figures read 31-27-5-0 in this match! He bowled 131 consecutive dot balls. English batsmen quoted that he was ‘unhittable’.

Mind Blowing Facts about Cricket | Image Source: Google

10. South Africa vs West Indies

In a match against West Indies, South Africa made the whole team ball. West Indies piled up 747 runs batting for over 200 overs. So, all 11 players got a chance to bowl. AB de Villiers bowled 21 overs taking 2 wickets and wicketkeeper Mark Boucher bowled 1.2 overs with 1 wicket. So, both wicket keeper and standing wicket keeper took wickets. Interestingly the lead bowler Shaun Pollock went back to the pavilion without a wicket in his bag!

11. Jayasuriya’s ODI wickets

Sanath Jayasuriya has more number of ODI wickets than Shane Warne. He has taken 323 wickets in 445 matches. Warne has taken 293 wickets in 194 ODI appearances. It’s strange how an opening batsman has more ODI wickets than a legendary bowler!

Mind Blowing Facts about Cricket | Image Source: Google

Cricket has been always perceived as a gentleman’s game. You would have heard people that it is a very sophisticated sport. Well, is it or isn’t it can be a matter of discussion. But, there are several incidents in which players have been seen to indulge in heated exchange of words. Sledging has been used in cricket as a tactical strategy since its beginning. Moreover, there have also been incidents in which after being triggered by the opponent, players have answered in the form of game (scored runs or taken wickets). These incidents can be particularly termed as ‘Revenges’ in cricket. They can be said as the moments of glory, as the player involved in them has proved his mettle in the true spirit of the game. Considering all these factors, it can be stated that Cricket is rather a very exciting sport than a gentleman’s game. It has all types of high-voltage moments consisting of sledging, ‘sweet’ exchange of words, arguments and revenges. So, let’s have a look at 5 Classic Revenges in Cricket.

Venkatesh Prasad Incident

One of the most famous India-Pakistan encounters happened at the World Cup 1996 edition. India had set Pakistan a target of 288 runs in 49 overs in the quarterfinal match in Bangalore. Pakistan had an explosive start, with Aamir Sohail and Saeed Anwar banging Indian bowlers round the park from the first ball itself. Fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad came to bowl the 15th over of the innings, with Pakistan at 104 for one. Aamir Sohail hit Prasad for a fiery boundary on the 5th ball of the over, and then even signalled Prasad with his bat directing towards the boundary.

Prasad didn’t receive this act by Sohail in a good mood. On the very next ball, the last ball of the over, Prasad gave a befitting reply to Sohail. He knocked the bails off the stumps! This ‘payback’ moment was followed by Prasad signaling Sohail to go back to the pavilion. This was a result of the batsman losing his confidence and becoming a bit arrogant. This wicket of the in-form batsman Sohail changed the course of the match completely and ultimately India won it by 39 runs to reach the semifinals of the World Cup.

Venkatesh Prasad vs Aamir Sohail- Classic Revenges in Cricket | Image Source: Google

Natwest 2002 Finals

In the Natwest 2002 Final held at the Mecca of Cricket, Lord’s. A target of 326 was set by England on board for India to chase. Yuvraj Singh and Mohammed Kaif played an instrumental role in India achieving the target successfully. And subsequently, the world saw one of the greatest revenge moments of the game. Captain of the Indian cricket team, Sourav Ganguly took off his shirt and waved it in the air at the iconic balcony of the Lord’s!

But, what was the reason for Ganguly doing so? Actually Andrew Flintoff had also waved off his shirt in a similar manner in the previous series against India at the Wankhede Stadium. Ganguly did take his revenge in the most flamboyant way.

Classic Revenges in Cricket | Image Source: Google

Yuvraj Singh’s 6 Sixes

Andrew Flintoff has this habit of instigating Indians and then taking it back from them. In the first edition of the T-20 World Cup held in South Africa in 2007, India faced England in a very crucial match. Flintoff was continuously inciting Yuvraj which resulted in a very heated exchange of words between the two. In the very next over bowled by Stuart Broad, Yuvraj hammered him for 6 sixes off the 6 balls! And that too in all directions possible. Yuvraj scored 58 runs in 16 deliveries which consisted of 7 sixes and 3 fours and led India to set a target of 219 runs in 20 overs. India won this match by 18 runs. This remains one of the most iconic moments in cricket history till date.

Yuvraj Singh’s 6 Sixes- Classic Revenges in Cricket | Image Source: Google

The CPL Revenge

This incident happened in a match between Jamaica Tallawahs and Guyana Amazon Warriors in Carribean Premier League 2017. Kesrick Williams was on the bowling end and Chadwick Walton was batting. This incident is one of the most exciting ones in the history of the game. In the match Walton was dismissed by Williams and subsequently Williams celebrated this moment by his trademark celebration of taking out a virtual notebook and ticking off the name of his wicket.

Walton took this as a very embarrassing and mocking act. He again faced Williams again in the next match between the Tallawahs and Warriors . This time, Walton came with full preparedness and remained calm initially even after Williams was instigating him. Walton sent Williams for a four off the first ball. He then gave his reply to Williams with the same action which Williams had done, the difference being that Walton assumed his bat as the notebook. He scored 23 runs in that over and didn’t stop there. He then hit Williams for a couple of boundaries later in the match. Walton scored 84 runs off 40 deliveries in that match, which turned out to be sweet revenge for him and not so sweet for Williams!

2013/14 Ashes Series

The 2013/14 Ashes series is remembered for Mitchell Johnson’s ruthless 37 wickets in the series. The English batsmen had no options available other than surrendering in front of the furious Johnson. An incident in the first Test in Brisbane involving James Anderson and Johnson is quite interesting. Johnson and Ryan Harris were on crease, and England was keen to wrap up the tail soon. Then Johnson was heard on the stump mic saying “Why are you chirping now mate? Not getting wickets?” Anderson had a reply ready for him. He replied by yorking Harris on the very next delivery. Johnson took his revenge by rattling Anderson’s middle stump in the next Test and kept the battle alive.

Anticipation, buildup, excitement were all flushed down the drain as the first day of the second test between India and England was washed out even without the toss.

After a thrilling start to the unusual English summer in Edgbaston, where the hosts pulled out victory from the jaws of defeat and the visitors nearly tasted a historic victory, the next game was scheduled to take place at the home of cricket, Lord's.

The cold wind and the rains went missing right from the start of this unusual English summer. They were replaced by a summer very similar to that in India until the first day of the second test at London, where it rained and rained and rained some more. Not only the first day's play was washed off but also the various strategies which were made in both the camps must have gone for a toss. The idea of bringing in an extra spinner or to bat first after winning the toss must have been reconsidered as the rain never allowed play.
