The CLAT 2023 exam will be conducted on December 18, 2022.

To apply for the CLAT 2023 examination, candidates can follow the simple steps given below. 

1. Firstly visit the official website of CLAT, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

2. Click on the link for CLAT 2023 to login available on the home page here.

3. A new page will open.

4. Click on the Register link here.

5. Enter the details required for registration and fill the application form.

6. Pay the application fee.

7. Download the confirmation page and take a printout of it.

According to an official notification released in November 2021,  the Consortium has reduced the Counselling fee from 50,000/- to Rs.30,000/- for the General category candidates and Rs.20,000/- for ST/SC/OBC/BC/EWS/PWD and other reservation candidates. 

In its meeting held on June 24th, 2022, the Executive Committee of CNLUs approved the CLAT-2022 Result of UG and PG Programmes. It recommended it to Governing Body of Consortium of NLUs for its consideration and approval. The Governing Body of CNLUs approved both results unanimously and recommended publication on the Consortium website. Candidates may log in with their CLAT login and download the Score Cards.

CLAT-2022 will be held on May 8, 2022, and it has been resolved that CLAT-2023 will be held on 18th December 2022. Hence, in 2022 two CLAT examinations will be held in one year. The official notice is available on the official site of Consortium of National Law Universities on consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

According to the official notification, the Consortium further resolved to reduce the Counselling fee from 50,000/- to Rs.30,000/- for the General category candidates and Rs.20,000/- for ST/SC/OBC/BC/EWS/PWD and other reservation candidates.

It is also mentioned in the notice that the Consortium has elected a new Executive Committee with Prof. Poonam Saxena, Vice-Chancellor, National Law University, Jodhpur taking over as President from the Outgoing President Prof. Faizan Mustafa.

The final answer key for CLAT 2021 examination was released just a day before the result announcement. The counseling registration process for CLAT 2021 will start from July 29 till July 30 at 12 noon. According to the official notice, “All candidates are advised to login to the consortium website and confirm if they have been invited for counseling. Further, an email/SMS shall be sent to all eligible candidates inviting them for counseling. The counseling information will be uploaded on the Consortium website as well. Candidates can log in to their CLAT account and register for the counseling process. Candidates are advised to log in and check if they have been invited for counseling. Clat Consortium will not be responsible for non-delivery of Emails/SMS”.

 Candidates can download their admit card by login in through the CLAT Registration number or Application Number and Date of Birth. CLAT- 2021 Admit Cards for UG and PG Programmes will be available for download on the Website of the Consortium of National Law Universities except for the Northeast States which shall follow soon. The CLAT- common law admission test is scheduled to hold on July 23. Earlier the exam was on June 13, 2021, but postponed due to the COVID pandemic.

CLAT 2021 is a 2-hour duration exam consisting of 200 questions from English, general knowledge and current affairs, mathematics, legal aptitude, and logical reasoning sections. For every wrong answer, a negative marking of 0.25 marks is there.

As notified earlier, the CLAT 2021 will be a Pen and Paper exam conducted at Centres with all COVID 19 safety protocols being observed. Candidates for the LL.M. programme in CLAT 2021 are hereby informed that the examination will include only 120 MCQs to be answered in 120 minutes. There will be no Descriptive Section in CLAT 2021.

In the official notice, it is also mentioned that to avoid long travel to the Test Centres, applicants will be given a chance to revisit their preference of Test Centre after the last date of submission of filled-in application. The Consortium as far as possible will try to adjust the first or second preference of the Test Centre.

And, last Candidates are advised to get themselves vaccinated. 

Furthermore, the last date for submission of online application for CLAT 2021 has also been extended to June 15, 2021.

The Consortium of National Law Universities consisting of the representative universities, after reviewing the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country and keeping in view of health and safety of all students appearing for CLAT, the Committee decided to postpone the CLAT 2021 admission test scheduled on June 13.

Earlier also CLAT 2021 was postponed from May 9 to June 13 due to CBSE Board exams dates getting clash with the proposed date.
