The film is based on a story written by Bikas Mishra, screenplay by Raghav Kakkar and KashyapKapoor. The Comedy Couple story revolves around the lives of a stand-up comedy duo and real-life lovers of Zoya (Shweta Basu Prasad) and Deep (SaqibSaleem). They play comedy acts together, and when one of their acts goes viral, their professional and personal lives collide.

The trailer shows the story of two cousins, Dolly and Kajal, where Konkona Sen Sharma playing the role of Dolly and Bhumi Pednekar as Kajal.  In the movie, Dolly is a middle-class working woman having a perfect family whereas her cousin Kajal who has come to the city with big dreams in her life. Will middle class Dolly be able to maintain a picture-perfect life and Will Kajal be able to be an independent woman and cross all the hurdles of her life? The story of Dolly Kitty AurWoh Chamakte Sitare revolves around these two and to know about their life, you will have to wait for September 18.  

From the trailer, it can be seen that the film is a complete package of humor and emotions. Amol Parashar, Kubbra Sait, Vikrant Massey, Karan Kundra, and Mushtaq Khan also played a prominent role in the film. The music is composed by Arjuna Harjai, Clinton Cerejo, and Sadhu S Tiwari.
