A social media campaign #BharatRatnaforRatanTata is running for few days led by Dr. Vivek Bindra. He demanded that the Government must honor Ratan Tata with the highest gallantry award Bharat Ratna as Ratan Tata has always been known for his contribution to the betterment of society. He is a philanthropist and ideal of many young entrepreneurs.

But Ratan Tata on Saturday through a tweet, request the people to stop this campaign. He said, “While I appreciate the sentiments expressed by a section of the social media in terms of an award, I would humbly like to request that such campaigns be discontinued. Instead, I consider myself fortunate to be an Indian and to try and contribute to India’s growth and prosperity”.

Former President Dr. Sarvpalli Radhakrishnan’s birth anniversary falls on 5 September. In his memory, Teachers’ Day is celebrated every year on 5 September. Once some of his students and friends told him that, they want to celebrate his birthday. He then said, “I would feel proud if my birthday is celebrated as Teacher’s Day instead of celebrating my birthday separately.” Sarvpalli Radhakrishnan was a pioneer of Indian culture, an eminent educationist and a great philosopher. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was nominated for the Nobel Prize 27 times. In 1954, he was awarded the Bharat Ratna.

Teacher’s day is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over the country. On this day, students in schools organize many colorful programs for teachers. Students give different types of gifts to their teacher to show respect. At the national level, on the day of the teacher’s day, teachers are awarded the National Teacher Award for their work. This award is given every year by the President of the country.
