Beauty scrubs available in the market are costly and sometimes cause harm to your delicate skin. Here are some of the scrubs that you can make at home (DIY) and be grateful to your skin.

To make DIY scrub at home, you have to take care that paste should not be too thick or too dilute. If it is too runny it will scoop up with your fingers and will drain down during apply. So, it should have accurate consistency.

 Here are some of the DIY scrubs you can try at home for their amazing benefits

1. Honey+Papaya

Benefits:

Honey removes the dead skin cells and moisturizes the skin. It boosts the skin healing process. It is an anti-acne product and removes the bacteria from the skin.

Papaya moisturizes the skin and clears pigmentation. It also helps in removing wrinkles and dark circles under the eye.

Procedure to make Honey and Papaya DIY Scrub:

Take 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of mashed papaya. Mix the two ingredients together. Apply it on your skin for 30 minutes. When dry, rinse with cold water.

2. Gram flour+ Turmeric+ curd

Benefits:

Gram flour has been used for ages as a beauty hack. Women in ancient times used gram flour in their daily routine as a face mask for naturally glowing skin. It exfoliates the dead skin cells, treats acne, removes fine facial hair, reduces oiliness, and offers instant fairness.  

Turmeric protects the skin from free radical damage. It also treats the uneven skin tone and restores the natural glow.

Curd improves the moisture level, brightness, and elasticity of the skin.

Procedure to make Gram flour+ Turmeric+ curd DIY Scrub

 Take 1 tablespoon of gram flour, 1 tablespoon curd and a pinch of turmeric powder.  Mix them together to form a thick paste.  The paste should not be very thick. Apply it and leave till it dries off. Wash and gently massage your face with cold water.

3. Coffee powder +sugar+ lemon

Benefits:

Coffee reduces the appearance of cellulite on the skin by diluting the blood vessels under the skin and improves blood flow. It reduces the appearance of fine lines, redness, and sunspots.

Sugar brightens the tired and dull-looking skin and helps to get rid of the ingrown hairs.

Lemon keeps the skin even-toned. It is used as an astringent because it motivates the skin pores to get close and tighten resulting in smoother skin.

Procedure to make Coffee powder +sugar+ lemon DIY Scrub

Take ½ tablespoon of coffee powder, ½  tablespoon of lemon juice, and ½ tablespoon of sugar syrup. Mix them together to form a paste. Apply it on the skin and scrub it in an anti-clockwise direction. Wash it thoroughly with lukewarm water and pat dry.

4. Tomatoes + sugar

Benefits:

Tomatoes are rich sources of vitamins A and C. They replenish skin with these nutrients and help in preventing acne. Tomatoes brighten the complexion, removes tan.

Sugar opens ups the blocked pores thereby increasing the blood circulation leaving the skin smooth and clear.

Procedure to make Tomatoes and sugar DIY scrub

Take2 tomatoes and make a puree of them. Take ½ tablespoon sugar syrup and mix them together. Apply the mixture on skin and massage in circular motions. Rinse off with lukewarm water after getting it dry.

5. Guava+ Rosewater

Benefits:

Guava has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties that help in removing blackheads by opening up the pores. It also fights against bacteria to get clearer skin. Guava brightens the skin, removes acne, and helps you get rid of excess oil on the face.

Rosewater is used as a toner that maintains the skin’s pH balance. Rosewater helps to get rid of dermatitis, eczema, acne, and redness. It helps revitalize the skin, tightens the capillaries, and reduces blemishes.

Procedure to make Guava and Rosewater DIY scrub

Take 1 tablespoon of mashed guava and ½ tablespoon of rosewater. Mix them. Scrub it gently for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with cold water.

How often should you scrub your body?

It is said that you should not scrub your skin every day as it may harm and can cause skin irritation. Scrubbing your body with a scrub or loofah once or twice a week is said to be enough. If you have sensitive skin, it is best not to scrub your body more than once a week.
