The six venues shortlisted to host the remaining matches 

Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata cities have been chosen keeping in mind the logistics, crowd capacity, and safety protocols. 

The BCCI has stated that necessary precautions and guidelines will be followed to ensure the smooth conduct of the tournament, especially considering the large footfall expected at each venue.

The IPL 2025 season started with high-octane matches and impressive performances by players from all franchises.

The IPL was suspended due to a tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir where 26 civilians, mostly tourists, lost their lives. Following the attack, tensions between India and Pakistan, leading to military action from both sides, including India’s “Operation Sindoor” and retaliatory missile and drone strikes from Pakistan.

Due to the rising security threats, the BCCI decided to pause the tournament to ensure the safety of players, staff, and fans.

Now, after weeks of careful monitoring and improved security conditions, the BCCI has announced that IPL 2025 will officially resume on May 17. The remaining matches will be played across six major cities, and the final is scheduled for June 3.

The last match before the suspension was between KKR and CSK Capitals at the HPCA Stadium in Eden Gardens. The game was abandoned midway due to air raid warnings and a subsequent power outage, causing panic among spectators and players. The BCCI swiftly evacuated the stadium and ensured the safe relocation of all involved parties

All franchises are preparing to return with renewed energy, and players are undergoing training camps to get back into peak form.

The main concern right now is safety — not just for the players, but also for everyone involved in the matches. The BCCI wants to make sure no one’s security is compromised.

This decision started gaining attention after the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was called off mid-way during the first innings in Dharamsala. This unusual situation raised many questions about whether the rest of the tournament could go ahead smoothly or not.

A BCCI member said “We are not sure about the future. Things are very unclear at the moment. So we have to wait and watch.”

Right now, there is no new date or update on when the tournament will restart. But one thing is clear: Nation comes first, safety always. Fans will have to stay patient and wait for the next official announcement.

In a release, the BCCI said: “The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announces the extension of contracts for Head Coach Mr. Rahul Dravid and the Support Staff of Team India (Senior Men). The BCCI engaged in productive discussions with Mr. Rahul Dravid after the term of his contract ended following the recently concluded ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 and unanimously agreed to further the tenure.

The Board acknowledges Mr. Dravid’s instrumental role in moulding the Indian Team and commends his exceptional professionalism. The Board also appreciates Mr. VVS Laxman for his exemplary roles as Head of NCA and as the stand-in Head Coach. Similar to their legendary on-field partnerships, Mr. Dravid and Mr. Laxman have worked closely in driving Indian Cricket forward.

Mr. Roger Binny, President, BCCI, said: “Mr. Rahul Dravid’s vision, professionalism, and unyielding efforts have been important pillars in Team India’s success. The Indian cricket team will be seen playing in the new jersey in the T20 World Cup going to start in Australia next month. Indian cricket team has also been announced for the same. After playing two T20 series in India from September 20, the Indian team will leave for Australia. MPL Sports, the official kit sponsor of the Indian cricket team, has launched the team’s new jersey.

The jersey currently worn by the Indian team is navy blue. But this time the colour of the Indian cricket team jersey is blue. The jersey of the last World Cup was named Billion Cheers Jersey and its pattern was inspired by the fans of Team India. The colour of this jersey was dark blue.

On Sunday, the BCCI finally shared a picture of the players wearing the new kit in a post on its social media platform. It features Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and members of the women’s team like Harmanpreet Kaur, Shefali Verma and Renuka Singh wearing the new jersey. The shoulders and sleeves in the new jersey are dark blue and the rest of the kit is light blue. There is also a small design on the left side of the jersey.

Australian cricket legend Shane Warne died at the age of 52. It is being told that he died due to heart attack. According to the information, Shane Warne was present in his villa, and was founded unconscious there.

In this statement issued by Shane Warne’s management, it was said that he died in Koh Samui, Thailand. “Shane was found unconscious in his villa and, despite the best efforts of the medical staff, could not be revived,” the statement said.

“The family requests confidentiality at this time and will provide more details in due course,” the management of former Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne said in a statement. On Thursday itself, Shane Warne shared a picture of his villa located in Thailand on his Instagram account.

Terming the sudden demise of Shane Warne as a “personal loss”, India’s batting legend and current head coach Rahul Dravid on Saturday said the legendary Australian spinner will be remembered for as long as cricket is played.

In the video released on the Twitter handle of the Indian Cricket Board, Dravid said, “I have had the privilege and honor of playing against Shane Warne. More importantly, I had the privilege of knowing him personally, playing with him. It will probably be one of the highlights of my cricketing career.”

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has congratulated the Indian cricket team for winning the ICC U19 World Cup.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister said;

“Extremely proud of our young cricketers. Congratulations to the Indian team for winning the ICC U19 World Cup. They have shown great fortitude through the tournament. Their stellar performance at the highest level shows that the future of Indian cricket is in safe and able hands.”

The winning team has Rohtak’s Nishant Sindhu, Hisar’s Dinesh Bana and Bhiwani’s Garv Sangwan. Haryana CM Manohar Lal tweeted, “Fabulous! In the Under-19 Cricket World Cup, our young players beat all the teams of the world with excellent sports performance and won the World Cup for India for the fifth time, I congratulate the entire team and all the countrymen on this historic achievement.

Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala also congratulated the Indian U19 Cricket team on winning. He tweeted, “Congratulations to Indian team for winning the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2022. Proud of our young cricketers.”

BCCI- The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also congratulates India Under-19 team for the title triumph at the Under-19 Men’s World Cup 2022. The BCCI has announced cash rewards for the victorious India U19 team. Members of the India U19 team will be rewarded INR 40 lakhs each and Members of the Support Staff, India U19 will be rewarded INR 25 lakhs each.

With this tweet of BCCI, Kohli’s near five-year-long limited-over captaincy tenure has come to an end.

Rohit took over as India’s T20I skipper after the T20 World Cup, guided India to a 3-0 victory over New Zealand in the just-finished three-match T20I series. With Kohli having already stepped down as India’s T20I captain, it was only a matter of time until Rohit assumed command of the limited-overs side. He was also titled India’s vice-captain in Tests, serving as Kohli’s deputy and succeeding an out-of-form Ajinkya Rahane.

Rohit has less than a year to prepare for the T20 World Cup, which will be held in Australia next year, and the 50-over World Cup, which will be held in India in 2023. The two next ICC events offer to be the biggest challenge for Team India since the Rohit Sharma-Rahul Dravid combo took over.

The captaincy period of Kohli has been a wonderful story in itself. The ‘cool’ Mahendra Singh Dhoni groomed Kohli under his leadership and then when he felt that the time had come, he handed over the responsibility of the white ball to him. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Saturday that the Indian Premier League’s (IPL 2021) 14th season will be played in the United Arab Emirates. The decision was made during a virtual Special General Meeting (SGM) where members unanimously voted to resume IPL.

According to official notice “The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced to complete the remaining matches of VIVO Indian Premier League 2021 season in the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E) considering the monsoon season in India in the months of September-October this year,”.

On May 4^th, the IPL was postponed indefinitely by the BCCI after several players and staff members of IPL teams tested positive for Covid-19 as the second wave of the virus spread rapidly in the country. The last match of the 14^th IPL season so far was played on May 2nd between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals.

IPL 2021: On Sunday, March 7, 2021, The BCCI has released the schedule of Vivo IPL 2021. Last month the auction was held for the 14th season of the league, after which the fans were waiting for the schedule. The 14th season of the IPL will begin in Chennai on April 9. The final match of the league will be played on 30 May at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The last season of the league was played in the UAE.

The first match of the season will be played on 9 April between the defending champions Mumbai Indians, captained by Rohit Sharma, and Royal Challengers Bangalore, captained by Virat Kohli. All the playoff matches of the league and the final match will be played on 30 May at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

A total of 56 matches will be played in the Indian Premier League(IPL 2021). 10-10 matches will be played in Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru. Whereas, 8-8 matches will be played in Delhi and Ahmedabad.  The IPL 2021 schedule has been designed in such a way that each team has to travel only three times during the league round to reduce the risk of the corona.

This time 11 double-headed matches will be played. The first IPL 2021 double-header match will start from 03:30 pm on April 9, while the second match will be played in the evening from 07:30 pm.
