The story of the series A Suitable Boy is set in newly independent India. A Suitable Boy revolves around Tanya Manikatla (Lata), whose mother is looking for a “Suitable Boy”. On the other hand, there is Ishaan Khatter (Maan Kapoor), who is in love with a courtesan Tabu (Saeeda Bai). The romantic chemistry between Tabu and Ishaan is the highlight of the trailer. In the series, you will also see highlights of India’s first general elections.

A suitable boy series marks the reunion of Tabu and Mira after 14 years. Tabu has earlier worked with Mira Nair in the 2006 film “The Namesake” that also featured late actor Irrfan Khan.
