<p>Ering started his career in the Indian Frontier Administrative Service. In the year 1963, he was elected as a Lok Sabha member in NEFA. After that, he also became deputy minister in the Ministry of Food and Agriculture. In 1964 he started the Ering commission which proposed to start a 4 tier system of local government just like the Panchayati raj system to make it easy for local people to get justice. He died in 1970 and a wildlife sanctuary was built in his memory in East Siang district on his name.</p>

<p> C.K Gohain was an agriculturist and a social worker. He was the Chief Commissioner of the NEFA Branch and was also a member of the Social Welfare Advisory Board in NEFA. He became secretary of the Kampti Council and Bodhi society. In 1970 he was nominated for 4th Lok Sabha from NEFA.</p>



<p class="has-large-font-size"><strong>EKEN RIBA</strong></p>



<p>Eken Riba was the first lawyer from the state Arunachal Pradesh. His first move toward the public field was becoming general secretary of his school and then elected in NEFA student union. After that, he became the first president of JN college.  He completed his graduation in 1973 and joined Delhi University for the law. He later joined Congress. Since 2014 he is one of the 4 state information commissioners in the Arunachal  Government. Minister of State for Law and justice of Arunachal Pradesh and as received Bharat Excellence Award.</p>

<p>POLITICAL PARTY- Indian National Congress</p>



<p>James Lowangcha Wanglat was a student activist born in a royal family called Namsang Borduria and in 1970  was one of the helping hands in founding the North East Frontier Agency Student Union. In 1977 he became the general secretary of the People’s Party of Arunachal and also got elected four times for legislative assembly but he lost his seat in the 1984 election but then he won in the 1990 election as Janata dal candidate. After winning seats as a congress member for years he finally left the party in 2009 and joined Bhartiya Janta Party in 2014.</p>

<p>Prem Khandu Thungan was the first Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh through the Janta Party who got elected in 1978 in the first assembly election and before that he was the former Central Minister of State for Urban Development. Then in 2015, he went behind the bars for using public funds for an irrigation project in Nagaland.</p>

<p>Gegong Apang in  1978, 1980, and 1984 won Assembly Constituency from Yingkiong-pangin after that in 1990,1995,2000, and 2004 he again won from the Upper Siang districts.  He was the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh from 1980 till 1999. In 1999 he resigned from his position because of the conflict in his party which later got split. In 2003 he was elected as the leader of the United Democratic Front which was his own political party. After a few months, he merged his party with Bharatiya Janata Party and that was the first time that BJP got a chance to rule over North East. But when BJP lost the general election in 2004, he again joined Congress and again became the Chief Minister. He then again resigned from primary membership in Congress in 2014 and joined BJP.</p>

<p>Dorjee Khandu was the 6th Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh who was in the Indian Army Intelligence Corps for seven years before joining the politics, he was rewarded with a gold medal for his service to the nation during the Bangladesh war. In 1983 he was elected as Vice President of West Kameng District. He has also received the Karam veer award by the Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society for developing his district. In 1990 he stood up in the First Legislative assembly of Arunachal Pradesh. He then became the Minister of State for Cooperation in 1995; Minister for Animal Husbandry &amp; Veterinary, Dairy Development in 1996; Minister for Mines, Relief &amp; Rehabilitation in 1999. In 2007 he finally became the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh but in 2011 he was found dead in a helicopter crash.</p>

<p>Mukut Mithi entered politics with Kerala Congress but later on shifted to Arunachal Congress as he made his own political party which later on merged with Kerala Congress and became Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh in 1999. In 2006 he was assigned as a Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. In 2008 he went for the Rajya Sabha election and won by leaving his governor seat behind.</p>

<p>Jarbom Gamlin was History graduate from St. Stephen&#8217;s College Delhi and did his law studies from Delhi University. He then became President of All Arunachal Pradesh Student Union. He then represented Arunachal West Lok Sabha constituency in the 13th Lok Sabha,  and then got elected in the 4th Legislative Assembly and became Home Minister but later he resigned because of conflict with Apang. He became the 7th Chief Minister in 2011 preceded by Dorjee Khandu.</p>

<p>He has occupied multiple positions in his political career, in 1983 he was the President of the National Students Union of India along with that he also became Chairman of North-East NSUI and in 1988 he became Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress, President. Nabam Tuki became Urban Development Minister. He then became the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh replacing Jarbom Gamlin.</p>

<p>Pema Khandu is the son of Dorjee Khandu who was the former Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and now his elder son is the 9th Chief Minister of the same state. He completed his graduation from the Hindu College also said to be the Delhi University. He became the Cabinet Minister for Water Resource Development and Tourism and became Secretary of the Congress committee in 2005. 2014 Legislative Assembly Election was won by him and he became the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh in 2016.</p>
