Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his deepest sorrow and strongly condemned the attack. He stated, “I am saddened deeply by the attack on tourists by terrorists in Pahalgam. My heart goes out to the families of those who died in this attack.” 

He clearly said that strong action will be taken against the people who did this.

“Those who are responsible for this horrific act of terrorism will not be forgiven. We will take the strongest action against them,” he added.

Government Response to the Pahalgam terror attack

Amit Shah personally alerted Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the incident. He also conducted a video conference with senior security officials to deliberate on the measures required to manage the situation.

He said that he will be coming to Srinagar shortly to chair a high-level meeting with all the security agencies and officials. The goal is to analyze the prevailing security arrangements and ensure such incidents do not recur.

The entire nation is united against terrorism, and the government has assured to take all steps necessary to ensure the people’s safety and peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

PM Grieves over the Uttarakhand Flood through a Tweet

PMO tweeted, “While in Assam, PM @narendramodi reviewed the situation in Uttarakhand. He spoke to CM @tsrawatbjp and other top officials. He took stock of the rescue and relief work underway. Authorities are working to provide all possible support to the affected.”

In another tweet, the Prime Minister said, “Am constantly monitoring the unfortunate situation in Uttarakhand. India stands with Uttarakhand and the nation prays for everyone’s safety there. Have been continuously speaking to senior authorities and getting updates on NDRF deployment, rescue work, and relief operations.”
