She is undergoing treatment of high grade Cancer in New York. Sonali with her Bald look says that she is trying to find out joy in every moment of her life in order to stay positive as she fights the dreaded disease.
She wrote, "Yes, there are times of pain and low energy, but I am spending time with people I love, and in whose company I feel happy. I am really thankful to my friends, who had come to visit me inbetween their busy schedules, they call, message, Facetime.... basically never leaving me alone. I am thankful to them for showing me what true friendship is. "
