The post 94th Oscars Award postponed for a month; now held in March 2022 first appeared on Jugaadin News .]]> The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and ABC has postponed the 94th edition of the Oscars by a month. The 2022 award ceremony will now take place on March 27, 2022 which was earlier set for February 27, 2022.

The eligibility period for Academy Awards® consideration will return to the standard December 31 deadline which means, the feature film must have a qualifying release date between March 1, 2021, and December 31, 2021. Also, this year, which is still impacted by the pandemic, eligibility requirements for the 94th Academy Awards will be consistent with the addendums made for the 93rd Awards season.

Awards rules and specialty category submission deadlines will be announced in June. The 94th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the Dolby® Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center® in Hollywood and will be televised live on ABC and in more than 200 territories worldwide.

The film had a world premiere at the Sundance film festival, 2020, and earned six nominations at the 93rd Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor (Hopkins), and Best Supporting Actress (Colman). At the 78th Golden Globe Awards also, the film received four nominations, including Best Motion Picture – Drama.

The Father movie is co-written and directed by Florian Zeller, based on his 2012 play Le Père.
