The budget for these institutes has been approved by the government and will accomplish this project in the coming two years. The govt. of India has set a total budget of Rs.1570 crore for setting up these institutes.

In these nursing institutes, there will be training and education for all three types of nursing-

• Midwifery
• General Midwifery
• BSc Nursing

The main aim of opening 157 nursing institutes is to improve the medical facilities in a country. The establishment of these institutes will boost the quality of human resources in the healthcare sector.Through the establishment of these nursing colleges, nearly 16,000 undergraduate seats would also be added for students which would result in the expansion of medical education in India. The co-location of nursing institutes with medical colleges will help in optimum utilisation of existing campus, labs, clinical equipment, faculty etc

Government is tremendously focusing on improving the healthcare workforce in the country. Now the services of Indian nurses are being recognized in foreign countries, therefore they are being trained according to global standards and provide better employment opportunities. In the last few years, govt. has increased MBBS seats in medical colleges. Before 2014, there were 387 medical colleges and now there are approximately 660 colleges.
