India hosted the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi from September 27 to October 5. The 12th edition of the Championships featured 186 medal events (101 men’s, 84 women’s, and one mixed) — five more than the last edition.
Indian para-athletes delivered their best-ever performance, winning a total of 22 medals — 6 Gold, 9 Silver, and 7 Bronze.
Previous record: 17 medals at Kobe 2024 (6 Gold, 5 Silver, and 6 Bronze).
India finished 10th in the medal tally, while Brazil topped the table with 44 medals (15 Gold, 20 Silver, and 9 Bronze). China finished second with 52 medals (13 Gold, 22 Silver, and 17 Bronze), having more overall medals but fewer golds than Brazil.
