Nowadays, competition is increasing day by day in every field. Everyone wants to live a happy and contented life with a secure future but in the competitive world, it seems like a dream.

A dream of a bright future can be fulfilled by doing business or a job. Business needs investment and that is the reason everyone can’t do it. Then comes the job sector that is further divided into the Public and private sectors. Most people prefer the public or government job sector as it is secure and highly paid.

Getting a government job in India is not a cakewalk. It requires a number of competitive exams to be clear before that and to clear the exam, you have to prepare.

Then the first question arises that should I join a coaching class or not? Some people think that without coaching class, they can’t crack the competitive exam. But that’s not the truth. You can clear your competitive exam while preparing at home. To prepare for competitive exams, you don’t have to pay thousands of rupees to the institutions. You can crack any exam without taking a coaching class by following tips that are given below.

1.  Self-confidence – While you are preparing for a competitive exam, you have to be self-confident as this will be your key to success. If you doubt yourself, then you can’t crack competitive exams. So, always trust yourself and build self-confidence in you to clear competitive exams.

2.  Know the syllabus and exam pattern – In this, first decide for which competitive exam you want to prepare, for example, SSC, Railways, NET, HSSC, etc. After deciding, take complete information about the syllabus and exam pattern of that particular exam and start preparing for it.

3.  Go for online study material – After knowing the syllabus and exam pattern, you can go for online study material from where you can solve previous year papers, mock tests, and online test for preparation. Offline study material can also be used. 

4.  Make a proper study plan – At the coaching class, a guide and mentor is there to direct you but at home, you have no teacher to teach and no guide who will make a study plan for you. So what you have to do try to make a proper study plan so that you can complete your syllabus and revision within the period. 

5.  Prepare notes – While studying, make a habit of preparing notes of important points for the end time revision. You can make a separate notebook for it or use the highlighter or colored pens to highlight the main points. This would make it easy to revise important things at exam time. 

6.  Revision is necessary – After preparing notes, daily revision is also necessary to remember the essential points at the time of the exam. 

7.  Solve previous year question paper – while preparing for a competitive exam, try to solve previous year question papers maximum so that you come to know the pattern and difficulty level of the exam. It will also tell you about your weak points and strong points so that you can work and scores better. 

8.  Make a proper schedule –  When you prepare for a competitive exam from home, it becomes necessary to balance work and personal life. For that, you can make a schedule or time table so that time to study, work, and leisure can be maintained. It will help you to do your study as well as other important work efficiently.

9.  Choose a silent place to study – If you are preparing for a competitive exam at home, choose a place which is far away from home disturbances like television, gossips of family members, etc. To make concentration and focus on your study, choose a place that is quiet, calm, and airy.

10.  Take some short breaks – After studying continuously, take some short breaks to fresh up your mind and take some coffee, snacks to feel energetic. It will increase your efficiency level and make your concentration strong. 

11.  Take care of your health – While studying at home, try to avoid mental stress as it can affect your health. Don’t take the burden on your mind. Stress and burden will only damage your health.

12.  Try to work on your weak points – When you solve previous year question papers, you come across your weak points and strong points of the subject. Start working on weak points to avoid any mistakes in the final examination. This will help in increasing your score in the exam.
