On March 20, Every year to mark the importance of House Sparrows and other birds for our environment, World sparrow day is widely celebrated.  The first World sparrow day was started by the Nature Forever Society of India in association with the Eco-Sys-Action Foundation (France) in 2010. The society also includes many national and international organization with it.  

Nature Forever Society was founded by Mohammed Dilawar, an Indian conservationist. The idea behind this day was to keep a day reserve for the house sparrow to give the message of appreciating the beauty of the house sparrow and other common birds that are taken for granted.

This year 2020 theme for world sparrow day is I LOVE SPARROW which celebrates the relationship between people and sparrow. The theme I love Sparrow encourages people to fight for conserving sparrow and other birds to maintain the ecological balance.

To celebrate this day various activities and events are carried out like sparrow march, awareness campaigns, and art competitions.
