World Sleep day 2020: Sleep good for healthy Life

World Sleep Day is celebrated annually by the World Sleep Day Committee, a non-profit organization. This year’s World sleep day held on Friday, March 13, 2020. World sleep day was started by a group of health professionals and researchers studying in the field of sleep medicine. World sleep day aims to spread awareness about sleep disorders, prevention of sleep disorders, benefits of healthy and good sleep and to reduce the burden of sleep problems on society.

World Sleep Day 2020 Theme: Better sleep, better life, better planet

This year world sleep day entitles the slogan ‘Better Sleep, Better Life, Better Planet highlighting the importance of sleep as a backbone of health, allowing for better decision making and cognitive understanding in even big issues, like our planet. The message focuses that healthy sleep can improve quality of life and vice –versa. Sound sleep is a treasure that everyone is not able to have. Those who don’t get sound sleep suffer from sleep deprivation or called sleep disorders.

What is a Sleep Disorder?

Sleep disorders are conditions that affect the ability to sleep well regularly. Sleep deprivation can increase the risk of other health problems. Symptoms of a sleep disorder include irregular sleep, daytime sleepiness and difficulty falling asleep.
