Volocopter is working on a new feasibility test to find the best route for air taxi in Southeast Asia.

Volocopter a German-based aircraft company is working on a feasibility test in collaboration with a ridesharing company Grab. Both companies will find out which routes will be feasible for the air taxi. Both companies have signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) in order to check the feasible cities for starting the air taxi services in future.

Volocopter is a German aircraft manufacturing company that has been building vertical takeoff aircraft. It is now working on to provide air taxi experience for the first time to the people. The company unveiled the world’s first full-scale air taxi “VoloPort” last year. In 2016, the company’s VC 200 was the first electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft worldwide to receive a flying permit by authorities to use the aircraft on a daily basis in cities, after then the company is testing its aircraft on a regular basis.

Volocopter 2X is a two-seated optionally-piloted electric aircraft. It is designed for personal use or as a taxi. It has 18 propellers and each propeller has its own electric motor to spin each propeller. The aircraft stabilization is pretty good.
