The Bahamas is also referred to as the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. The Commonwealth of Bahamas is one of the most developed countries within the Caribbean region. The country is a group of at least 700 islands – archipelago and is situated in the northwestern West Indies. University of the Bahamas is a public institution for higher education in the Bahamas (Commonwealth of The Bahamas).  University of the Bahamas was founded in the year 1764. The university is governed by the Council of the University of The Bahamas. The university has three academic campuses. The main campus of the university is situated in the capital city of Nassau, on the island of New Providence. The university is comprised of four faculties and two institutions namely International Languages and Cultures InstituteCulinary and Hospitality Management Institute. The faculties of the university include faculty of Business, Faculty of Liberal and Fine Arts, Faculty of  Pure and applied science, Faculty of social and educational studies.
