TOP POLITICIANS OF THE STATE OF TRIPURA

The State of Tripura doesn’t record many historical politicians yet they do have some top MLAs in their state. So here we are listing down the known MLAs of the state with some basic and specific information.
CHIEF MINISTER: BIPLAB KUMAR DEB
Biplab Kumar Deb is the current Chief Minister of the State of Tripura. He represents the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and led the victory in the 2018 legislative assembly elections. He has also been the State President of the political party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the State of Tripura, since 7th January 2017 replacing the longest-serving BJP State President candidate Sudhindra Chandra Das Gupta.
SPEAKER : REBATI MOHAN DAS
Rebati Mohan Das is currently the speaker of the Tripura legislative assembly. He represents the political party of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

RATAN LAL NATH
Ratan Lal Nath is at present the Minister of the school education, parliamentary affairs, law, minority, and welfare of OBCs under the Biplab Kumar Deb Ministry. Earlier he represented the National Congress Party (NCP) and later shifted to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was elected as the MLA from Mohanpur Constituency.
SUDIP ROY BARMAN
Sudip Roy Barman represents the political party namely BJP. He is at present the MLA of Agartala constituency. He is a former member of the All India Trinamool Congress and Indian National Congress. He is also the son of the former Tripura CM Samir Ranjan Barman.
ASHISH KUMAR SAHA
Ashish Kumar Saha is an Indian politician from the State of Tripura. In the 2013 assembly elections of the State of Tripura, he represented Town Bardowali constituency in the West part of Tripura in the Tripura Legislative Assembly. In 2016, Ashish Kumar Saha was among the six MLAs from INC (Indian National Congress) to join the All India Trinamool Congress due to unsatisfactory measures taken by the party, that is, allying with the CPI [Communist Party of India, (Marxist)] in 2916 West Bengal Legislative assembly elections.
NARENDRA CHANDRA DEBBARMA
Narendra Chandra Debbarma is known to be the president of the regional party, that is, Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura. He later allied with the Bharatiya Janata Party in the year – 2018 for Tripura Legislative assembly elections and won astoundingly with 8 out of 9 seats which therefore constituted 7.5% of the total polls.
Mimi Majumder represents the political party, namely the Bharatiya Janata Party. She was elected in the Tripura legislative assembly under Badharghat Vidhan Sabha Constituency.
BHANU LAL SAHA
Bhanu Lal Saha is a member of the 12th Tripura Legislative Assembly. He is also the former finance minister of the State of Tripura. He represents the political party of CPI [Communist Party of India (Marxist)]. He represents the Bishalgarh constituency of Tripura.
JISHNU DEB BARMA
Jishnu Dev Varma is also referred to as Jishnu Deb Barman (Debbarma). Jishnu Dev Varma is the current Deputy Chief Minister of the Indian State of Tripura. He was elected from the Charilam constituency.
Shyamal Chakraborty was a member of Rajya Sabha from the State of West Bengal. He represented the CPI(M) [Communist Party of India (Marxist)]. Shyamal Chakraborty was also the president of the Students Federation of India West Bengal State Committee. He was a strong politician from Tripura who lost his life due to COVID-19.
Manik Sarkar had served as the Chief Minister of the State of Tripura. He is the politburo member of the regional political party CPI(M) [Communist Party of India (Marxist)]. In the 2013 state elections, Manik Sarkar became the Chief Minister of the State of Tripura for the fourth consecutive time. At present, he is the leader of opposition in the Tripura Legislative Assembly.
MEVAR KUMAR JAMATIA
Mevar Kumar Jamatia is the General Secretary of the regional political party, the Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura. He is the current Minister of Tribal Welfare and Forest under Biplab Kumar Deb’s ministry. He was elected from the Asharambari constituency.
Kalyani Roy represents the regional political party BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) and is serving currently as the Government Chief Whip of the Tripura Legislative Assembly. Kalyani Roy is also the MLA of Teliamura constituency. She is the first woman in the State of Tripura to hold the office of Government Chief Whip.
Atul Debbarma won the Tripura Legislative Assembly elections representing the regional and political party, that is, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He won from the Krishnapur constituency. He has been in RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) since 2007.
