In view of the rising prices of petrol, now the trend of most people is moving towards more mileage vehicles. Recently BS6 emission norms have also come into force. In such a situation, the amount of power and mileage available in BS4 models has changed in the BS6 models. In such a situation, if you are planning to buy a new car but are confused about which BS6 model will get good mileage, then according to ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India), know which are the budget models, which can get better mileage. Here are the top 7 most fuel-efficient BS6 petrol cars in India:

MARUTI SUZUKI DZIRE (Automatic), Mileage: 24.12kmpl

The Dzire has always been Maruti’s best-selling sedan. It recently got a facelift version in which the 1.2-liter K12B petrol engine was replaced with the 1.2-liter K12C engine. However, a dual battery setup is not available in it. It has already become more powerful with 7 horsepower. Its 5-speed manual version gives 23.26kmpl while the 5-speed automatic offers a mileage of 24.12kmpl. Its price ranges from Rs 5.89 lakh to Rs 8.81 lakh.

TOYOTA GLENZA / MARUTI SUZUKI BALENO, Mileage: 23.87kmpl

Both Glanza and Baleno are products of different leading companies, but both have the same platform. According to ARAI, they get a mileage of 23.87kmpl. They have a 1.2-liter engine, with an integrated starter generator and 12-volt battery. It gets the power of 90 horsepower. There is not much difference in their price. The initial price of Toyota Glenza is Rs 7.22 lakhs while the Baleno is priced at Rs 7.33 lakhs. Both hatchbacks are also available with a 1.2-liter petrol engine option of 83 horsepower.

It costs from Rs 4.45 lakh to Rs 5.95 lakh.

Its price starts from Rs 4.41 lakh – Rs 5.58 lakh (ex-showroom price, Delhi). It has the 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine that produces 68PS/90Nm on petrol and 59PS/78Nm on CNG. Maruti claims a mileage of 21.63kmpl when driven on petrol and 31.76km/kg in CNG mode.
