The State of Goa doesn’t seem to record many historical politicians yet nevertheless, let’s explore the older prominent dynamics and current politically motivated people of Goa.

Let’s explore the well known names in the list of Goan politicians.
MADHUKAR BHOSALE
Madhukar Bhosale was the President of Akhil Bharatiya Sena Party (ABS) of the State of Goa.
LUÍS DE MENEZES BRAGANÇA
Luís de Menezes Bragança was a prominent figure as an Indian politician, writer, journalist, and very importantly an anti-colonial activist from Goa. He was among the Goan aristocrats who strongly opposed the Portuguese colonization in the areas of Goa. In the Indian mainland, Luís De Menezes Bragança was known as the “The Tilak of Goa”.
NARANA COISSORÓ
Narana Coissoró is currently a political lawyer who is known to be one of the retired politicians of the Centro Democrátio e Social (CDS) – People’s Party or Partido Popular (PP).
CINCINNATUS FABIAN D’ABREO
Cincinnatus Fabian d’Abreo was a well-known politician and administrator of the State of Goa, Portuguese India.
DEEPAK MADHAV DHAVALIKAR
Deepak Madhav Dhavalikar is an Indian politician, who is a two-term member of the Goa Legislative Assembly. He is representing the Priol constituency. Deepak Dhavalikar is also called as Deepak ‘Pandurang’ Dhavalikar as well. He has played a significant role in the Goan politics and is the President of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak (MG) Party. He was the Minister of the State of Goa as well during the period of 2012 to 2016.
SUDIN MADHAV DHAVALIKAR
Sudin Madhav Dhavalikar is an Indian politician who is a five-term member of the Goa Legislative Assembly. He represents the Marcaim constituency. Sudin Madhav Dhavalikar is also known as or called as Sudin alias ‘Ramkrishna’ Dhavalikar.
GOVIND GAUDE
Govind Gaude is also a known politician who is a member of the Goa Legislative Assembly. He represents the Priol constituency in the North Goa district while being an independent member. He is currently the Minister of Civil Supply and Price Control and Tribal Welfare in Manohar Parrikar Ministry and the Minister of Art and Culture. Earlier he was a member of the Indian National Congress. He lost in the year – 2007 in the Assembly elections. In 2007, he was representing the Marcaim constituency.
BERNARDO PERES DA SILVA
Bernardo Peres Da Silva was earlier the governor of Goa, Portuguese India. He was then the only first native of Goa to be appointed in such a position of dignity in 451 years of the Portuguese rule and colonization and provincial governance. He is said to be the first to get elected as a representative in the Portuguese Parliament from overseas Indian colonies.
VINOD PHADKE
Vinod Phadke is the cricket administrator and politician of Goa. He is an active member of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak (GM) Party. He was also team manager of the Indian Cricket team in 2015-16.
SANYOGITA RANE SARDESAI
Sanyogita Rane Sardesai was considered to be the first woman to enter the Goan Parliament and was elected as one of the members of Parliament of North Goa (1980). She represented the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak (MG) Party.
JAYESH VIDYADHAR SALGAONKAR
Jayesh Vidyadhar Salgaonkar is an active member of the Goa Forward Party. He is also a member of Parliament. He represents the Saligao constituency in the North Goa district. Jayesh Vidyadhar Salgaonkar is at present the Minister of Ports, Rural Development Agency, and Housing with the Housing Board department in the Manohar Parrikar Ministry.
PRAKASHCHANDRA PANDURANG SHIRODKAR
Prakash Chandra Pandurang Shirodkar is an archaeologist, writer, freedom fighters of Goa, and also the first speaker of the Goa, Daman, and Diu Legislative Assembly. He is the eldest son of the late Pandurang Purshottam Shirodkar. He has contributed several prominent researchers in the field of Archaeology and History of Goa.
A. K. S. USGAONKAR
Achyut Kashinath Sanai Usgaonkar was a prominent leader of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak (MG) Party who also served as the Cabinet rank Minister of Goa, Daman, and Diu. Before being a Cabinet rank Minister, A. K. S. Usgaonkar served as the deputy minister in the Dayanand Bandodkar Ministry and also as the deputy speaker of the State of Goa, Daman, and Diu Legislative Assembly.
There are several other prominent politicians of Goa, yet the listed ones are well known when talked about the State of Goa.
