US President Donald Trump honored Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the reputable “Legion of Merit Award” for Narendra Modi’s vibrant leadership qualities in furnishing the IND-USA bilateral partnership. He received the award for his dedicated leadership and vision that has quickened India’s emergence as a global power and boosting the strategic partnership between the United States and India to address global challenges.

The legion of merit award is a military award of the United States Armed Forces given to Army, Marine Corps, and Air Force general officers and colonels, and Navy and Coast Guard flag officers and captains occupying senior command or very senior staff positions in their respective services. It is the highest degree Chief Commander of the Legion of Merit given for outstanding services and performance.

This award was received by the Ambassador of India to the United States, Mr. Taranjit Singh Sandhu on behalf of PM Narendra Modi at the ceremony.

This Legion of Merit, Degree Chief Commander, is also awarded to the Prime Minister of Australia Scott Morrison and former Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe along with PM Narendra Modi.
