NEET (UG), JEE AND CLAT EXAMINATIONS POSTPONED DUE TO COVID-19 OUTBREAK

Due to the COVID-19 Outbreak the NEET (UG), JEE and CLAT examination postponed till the 15 April 2020. Exact dates for the examination will be announced according to the situation after 15 April 2020.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Under Graduate (NEET-UG) 2020 which was scheduled for May 3 has been postponed till the last week of May due to the effect of COVID-19. Accordingly, admit cards, which were due to be issued on Friday 27 March, will be issued after assessing the situation after April 15, the National Testing Agency (NTA) said. The Joint Entrance Examination (Main) will also be rescheduled as the lockdown will extend till April 15.

The NTA, in a public notice issued on Friday evening, said NEET-UG 2020 “Is proposed to be held in the last week of May 2020. The exact date will be announced later after surveying the situation”. The notice, issued by NTA director-general Vineet Joshi said, “In view of the hardships face by parents and students due to Covid-19 epidemic, the NTA has postponed the NEET-UG May 2020 examination was scheduled to be held on May 3, 2020.” The NTA advised students to regularly visiting the official website for updates and said candidates were also being informed individually through SMS or E-mail on their registered mobile number/email ID.

After the announcement of the 21 days lockdown across the country on March 24, the JEE (Main) examination which was scheduled in the first and second week of April also postponed. A senior government official said, “The new dates are likely to be announced only after the lockdown period is over and subsequent review of the Covid-19 outbreak.” Earlier, NTA was supposed to work on releasing new dates after March 31. But now, they may have to wait until the lockdown to end.

This year’s Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2020) has been also postponed to a later date, in light of the Coronavirus outbreak. The last date for submitted online applications has been extended till April 25 and a new date for the examination is 24 May 2020.
