National Energy Conservation Day: Conserve the resources for future

Every year on December 14 National energy conservation day is celebrated by the people all over India. This year also National Energy Conservation Day 2019 will be observed on Saturday, 14th December 2019. The sole purpose of the National Energy Conservation Day is to make the country aware of the effects and causes of the energy used by all people around the world. It implies the importance of natural resources and sustainability. It is an act that aware people of the less use of energy.

The Energy Conservation Act in India was executed by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) in the year 2001. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency is a constitutional body that comes under the Government of India and helps in the development of policies and strategies in order to reduce the energy use.

Energy conservation is important because if we don’t follow the concept of conservation, our natural resources will get depleted. Thus, we all should follow the steps that include conserving the energy

  • Use Energy Efficient Appliances
  • Use a maximum of Daylight. Switch off unnecessary lights during the daytime.
  •  Replace incandescent bulbs in the home with CFL bulbs. CFL bulbs will not only save energy but also save money.
  • For better energy conservation, water conservation is also necessary. There is wastage of around thousands of gallons of water per year by the people which can be prevented through various means of water-saving solutions.

Every Indian citizen must be aware of how to use energy efficiently, how to save energy for their own future security and many more ways. To support energy efficiency, they should follow all the rules, regulations and policies implemented by the Indian government.
