National Anti-terrorism Day: Pledge to follow Peace and Harmony

On the death anniversary of the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, May 21 is celebrated as Anti-terrorism Day in India. Rajiv Gandhi was the youngest prime minister of India as he was only 40 when became India ‘s sixth prime minister. He was assassinated in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, in May 1991 while campaigning for Congress as the party president.
The Day of Anti-Terrorism is celebrated to spread the message of peace and harmony and to foster solidarity among the people.

Importance of Anti-Terrorism Day:

The day of the anti-terrorism spreads the message among the young generation not to follow the bad practices and not to get misled by any foreign authority. This day encourages the feeling of world peace and non-violence among Indian citizens.

On Anti-Terrorism Day, the sacrifices of brave soldiers who lost their lives for their motherland fighting against terrorism are also remembered. It’s a day to pay tribute to those who have lost their lives in terrorist attacks.

The Anti-Terrorism Day Pledge:

On Anti-Terrorism Day, in all government offices, and in other public organizations, an anti-terrorism pledge is taken which is as follows:
We, the people of India, having abiding faith in our country’s tradition of non-violence and tolerance, hereby solemnly affirm to oppose with our strength, all forms of terrorism and violence. We pledge to uphold and promote peace, social harmony, and understand among all fellow human beings and fight the forces of disruption threatening human lives and values.”

Anti –terrorism Day 2020

As we all know the year 2020 is not running well for our country. Not only our soldiers have sacrificed their lives fighting against terror attack but there are many medical and public servants who lost their lives in the fight against coronavirus.  It is our responsibility to pay gratitude to all these front-liners who are fighting in one or another sense and saving our lives.
