Recently CNET (a website that publishes reviews, news, articles, blogs, podcasts, and videos on technology and consumer electronics globally) uploaded a video showing the fold-unfold test of the new Motorola Razr flip phone. In the video, a person put Motorola Razr on the fold-unfold test machine FoldBot which is made by SquareTrade. After the phone is put on the machine, then the machine began folding and unfolding the phone. After 27,000 folds Motorola Razr stopped folding properly and the phone was declared fail in folding test.

On the same Motorola company also released a video of real fold test in against the CNET video. The video released by Motorola company shows real fold test. In against of the CNET Motorola replied, “SquareTrade’s FoldBot is simply not designed to test our device. Therefore, any tests run utilizing this machine will put undue stress on the hinge and not allow the phone to open and close as intended, making the test inaccurate. The important thing to remember is that razr underwent extensive cycle endurance testing during product development, and CNET’s test is not indicative of what consumers will experience when using razr in the real-world. We have every confidence in the durability of razr”.

To proof, the durability of Motorola Razr company released this video on Youtube named as “The real razr flip test – flip for a year”. They wrote in the description of video “Motorola does extensive testing to make sure that our phones can withstand everyday use and last for years. Razr went through this testing in machines built specifically to simulate real-life use and we are confident in its durability.”
