Panchmarhi is a hill station in the Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh and is also known as Satpura ki Rani (Queen of Satpura). It is situated in a valley of Satpura Range at a height of 1067m.

Dhupgarh, Temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, Satpura Tiger Reserve, Satpura National Park are some of the major attractions of Panchmarhi and is famous for all of these things. It is located in the city near Pipariya. 

History of Panchmarhi

It is believed that the name Pachmarhi is derived from the Hindi words Panch (meaning five) and Marhi (meaning caves). It is also believed that these caves were built by the Pandava brothers from the Mahabharata era. They built the area during their thirteen years of exile. The caves are located on a hilltop. In May 2009, UNESCO added the hill station park to its list of Biosphere Reserves.

History of Bhopal

Some theories suggest that the city was founded by Parampara king Bhoj and was named as Bhojpal. The modern city of Bhopal was established by Dost Mohammad Khan during his rule in 1672-1728. The state is also famous for its interesting history as being ruled by women who contributed a lot in the development of the city. During the year 1984, Bhopal suffered through the biggest tragedy of the time, ‘Bhopal Gas Tragedy’.
