IPL 2021 to be resumed in UAE, BCCI chosen September and October window

IPL 2021: On May 29, The BCCI has chosen the months of September and October to hold the final matches of the 14th IPL season in the UAE.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Saturday that the Indian Premier League’s (IPL 2021) 14th season will be played in the United Arab Emirates. The decision was made during a virtual Special General Meeting (SGM) where members unanimously voted to resume IPL.

According to official notice “The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced to complete the remaining matches of VIVO Indian Premier League 2021 season in the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E) considering the monsoon season in India in the months of September-October this year,”.

On May 4th, the IPL was postponed indefinitely by the BCCI after several players and staff members of IPL teams tested positive for Covid-19 as the second wave of the virus spread rapidly in the country. The last match of the 14th IPL season so far was played on May 2nd between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals.
