Indian Armed forces to do fly pasts to salute Corona warriors

The three Defence forces of India, Army, Navy, and Air force will show gratitude towards the COVID, 19 Warriors, on Sunday, May 3 by doing Fly pasts, light up Ships at sea, and showering flower petals on Hospitals. This gesture of armed forces will be done to thank doctors, medical staff, and other front-line workers battling the COVID-19 outbreak.

The announcement came just before the statement extending the nationwide lockdown by the other 2 weeks. In a press conference, CDS chief Bipin Rawat said “We will convey our gratitude to each and every corona warrior and all the citizens of our nation. On May 3 there will be some special activities as a gesture of special gratitude by all three forces,”

The “gesture of salutation” will consist of the Air Force conducting fly-pasts “from Kashmir to Trivanthapuram (and) from Assam to Kutch in Gujarat”, Navy will display its gratitude by lighting up ships in Sea, and third helicopters will shower petals on hospitals and Police Memorial in support of the police forces and army bands playing outside medical buildings. Chief of Defence General Bipin Rawat gave this information in a press conference with the chiefs of the other three armies.
