Government launched ‘Mausam’ app for the cities weather forecast, Know the features

The government has introduced a mobile application named ‘Mausam’ to make weather information accessible to the public. With this, the city’s weather forecast and other information will be available. International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics, Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune and India Meteorological Department collectively developed the Mausam app. It was launched by Earth Science Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan. The application is available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store.

Weather information available for 450 cities

According to the government, the app will currently display weather forecasts for 200 cities but will start issuing weather forecast reports for about 450 cities in India in the next 7 days. This application provides a 24-hour weather forecast. Notices in this app are updated up to 8 times a day. Colors have been used to easily understand weather updates. The app’s weather information is available in three colors: red, yellow, and orange. Also, warnings will be issued if the weather is dangerous.
