There are some things that money can’t buy, one of such thing is childhood. To celebrate the essence of childhood, the 14th Nov. is celebrated as Children’s day all over India. Children’s Day is celebrated in the loving memory of our First Prime minister, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. Children used to call him Chacha Nehru as he loves children profoundly. It is said that if anything Nehru liked most in his life, it is the time he spent with little children. Soon after his death in 1964, to pay tribute to lover of children, his birth anniversary is celebrated as children’s day.

Children are the greatest asset of a nation. A nation prospers when it is able to develop the hidden potential lying untapped in children. In a country like India, we need to give much more attention to their all-round development as they are future of India. The day invites all of us to give children their due-love, affection and opportunities for development.
