Lucknow Mahotsav

This is a 10-day long event usually taking place in the month of November consisting of art, culture, tradition and cuisines. This is a good way to experience the vibes of Lucknow in a short span of time that too in a synchronized way. It is organised jointly by the Lucknow District Administration and Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department. The Mahotsav provides an opportunity for local Craftsmen and artisans to showcase their talent along with inviting celebrities to perform on the stage. There are many food stalls arranged in the Mahotsav which provide all types of the famous food of Lucknow. Kathak performances, Qawalis, Traditional dramas, colourful processions, thumri performances and Musical performances are the showstoppers of this colourful Mahotsav.. Exciting and unique events like kite flying, ekka races, cockfighting and some other villages games are organised to celebrate Culture.

Jamghat Festival

This is the annual kite flying festival celebrated in Lucknow after Diwali. People gather in localities, parks and other public places to celebrate this Traditional Festival. Markets around Hussainganj, Chaupatiya, Daliganj, Batashey wali gali, Chowk are full of shops selling kites and kite essentials. This Festival is a symbol of brotherhood and love between the people of Lucknow.

Bada Mangal Mela

This Festival is celebrated in the Aliganj Hanuman Temple and is again a Festival symbolising the Harmony between different communities living in Lucknow. Lots of Bhandaras (community food) are organised all over the city to distribute food amongst people on this Festival.

Defence Expo 2020

This defence exhibition was a unique large scale event held in Lucknow in February 2020. The aim of this event was to showcase and demonstrate India’s modern military, aerospace and defence equipment and technologies. Many foreign and Indian aircrafts, tanks, guns, protective gear were put on display. The aim was also to attract investments to India’s defence manufacturing sector. This was a great opportunity for even common people to get information about the various aspects of the defence sector.
