B.Com: Professional Degree Scope and Jobs Areas

One of the trending course after 10+2 is B.Com. B.Com stands for Bachelor of commerce which provides students with a wide range of managerial skills and understanding in streams like finance, accounting, taxation, and management.  The duration of B.com is 3 years and the candidate can pursue the degree in both regular and correspondence mode.

The 6-semester course is mainly focused on Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, and Economics. Those candidates who have passed the higher secondary examination with more than 50% marks from a recognized board and have an academic background in commerce stream are eligible to apply for this course.

There are two advanced career options in B.com i.e.  CA/CS. These courses are the most chosen course of action by students of commerce.

After completion of Bachelor’s of commerce, those who want to do masters can apply for Master of Commerce (M.Com) or Master of Business Administration (MBA). The Master of Commerce and Master Of Business Administration are of 2 years of full-time study. After specialization, job opportunities also increase. Candidates having M.com degree can find employment in financial services, marketing, project management.

LLB is also one of the courses that a commerce student can take after B.Com and work as Legal advisors, legal managers, etc in private companies.

The various job Areas for B.Com graduates can be Business Consultancies, Educational Institutes, Industrial Houses, Public Accounting Firms, Policy Planning, Foreign Trade Banks, Budget Planning, Inventory Control, Merchant Banking, Marketing, Working Capital Management.
