Engineering in Information technology is one of the most hopeful branches of all time for B.tech aspirants. If you want to go for engineering and play safe then information technology is the best field to opt for. Information technology engineering is the widely opted branch of all times by the engineering students.

What is information and technology engineering?

The information technology branch is considered similar to computer science engineering in many ways. but if you clearly examine information technology is more about the installation and maintenance of the computers. Information technology engineer works on the database and operates network whereas Computer science, on the other hand, is more dedicated to using a programming language to run the computer more efficiently. Computer science is mainly associated with the software, programs, and coding.

With the advancement in technology, the need for information technology engineers is continuously growing.

Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi once mentioned the need for information technology in today’s world by giving the slogan IT plus IT is equal to IT ie; Information technology plus Indian talent is equal to India tomorrow.

Engineering and diploma options for Information technology

Diploma option after 10th standard

You can avail of two major options after 10th if it is clear in your mind to go for the profile of an information and technology engineer from the beginning.

There are diploma courses available which you can do after the 10th. The best part of doing any diploma course is that you do not have to go for 11th and 12th standard anymore and after the completion of the course the admission for engineering is direct through lateral entry.

Lateral entry students are directly passed to the second year of B.tech ( engineering degree which is of 4 years) and have to do only 3 years of Btech to get their graduation complete.

B.tech option after 12th standard

If you are in your twelfth standard then availing the 4-year course into IT engineering is the only option you have in your hands. For getting entry into the B.tech colleges and universities, students have to give JEE (Joint entrance examination) and on the basis of their percentile and counseling, they get the admission.

There are integrated options available in the course as well, which includes B tech and M tech degree in one go. Opting for this saves your one year from separately going for BTech and MTech courses. Nowadays, B.tech and MBA integrated courses are also something you can consider going for, as they ensure high package placement in return.
