8 Homemade Face masks for Oily skin

Oily skin is considered as one of the most irksome skin types as it is known to attract all the dirt and impurities from one’s surroundings. Because of this, the skin further breaks out and causes acne, blackheads and greasy lines. Hence, oily skin type requires maximum care and needs to looked after almost on a daily basis. With little or no access to salons due to this pandemic, it becomes important for one to apply homemade face masks using ingredients that can be found easily in our kitchen. These face masks are gentle and chemical-free hence it is important to wait for the results to show up eventually.

1. Besan, Turmeric, Lemon, and Milk mask- All these have extremely beneficial qualities that work wonders and helps reduce the greasiness on the skin. All you need to make this face mask is 2 tbsp of besan, five drops of lemon juice, and half tsp of turmeric powder. Just add a few drops of milk to get the right consistency. Leave it on your face for 15-20 minutes and gently wash it off with lukewarm water.

2.  Multani Mitti/ Clay Mask– Multani mitti is used widely for its advantageous properties. It is known to soak up dirt and excess oil and get a healthy-looking skin.  Excess oil and greasiness on face can be cured by using homemade multani mitti maks. You will need 1 tsp of multani mitti with 1tbsp of rose water and lemon juice. Make fine paste and leave it on your skin for 15 minutes. Wash it off gently with cold water.

3.  Milk with Oil and Lemon mask– It may not feel necessary but some moisture is also essential for oily skin. Milk added with a few drops of lemon juice helps control the severity of oily skin. These two ingredients perfectly complement each other. While lemon controls the greasiness of skin due to its acidic properties, milk is known to give a natural glow to the skin. You will require milk, few drops of lemon, and 2 tsp besan to get a fine consistency. Just make a paste and apply directly to your face. Leave it on for 15 minutes and gently rinse with water.

4.  Orange peel– It has extremely beneficial qualities and is a rich source of Vitamin C. It is known for its astringent properties which helps getting rid of access greasiness on the skin. All you need is some orange peel and curd or milk. Just make a smooth paste out these and use it as a face mask directly. Wash it off after 15 minutes and get the oil-free radiating skin. 

5.  Egg white and yoghurt face mask– Egg whites are known to have extreme beneficial qualities for the skin as it de-clogs the pores help get rid of excess dirt on the skin. Egg whites combined the yoghurt helps achieve excellent results to remove greasiness and get healthy skin. You will need one egg white and a 1 tsp of yoghurt. Mix these two to make a fine paste. Apply on your face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Gently wash off your face with lukewarm water and see the results.

6.  Oatmeal and Avocado face mask– Avocados are rich in vitamins and natural oils that penetrate the skin to keep it healthy and nourished. Oats are known for their anti-oxidizing properties which soaks up the excess oil in the skin. A well-combined paste of these two ingredients can help you fight oiliness on the face and achieve glowing skin. You will require to soak the oats 5 minutes prior to making the mask. Mash the avocados to get a pulp and mix the soaked oats into this pulp. Directly apply this face mask on your face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Gently wash it off with lukewarm water.

7.  Papaya Face mask– It has essential exfoliating properties which absorbs excess oil and gets rid of dead skin cells. Using papaya face mask on a daily basis results in healthy looking skin, less wrinkles and no dead skin. All you need to do is mash a piece of papaya and apply to your skin directly. Wash it off after 15 minutes.

8.  Honey and lemon mask– Owing to its antibacterial and antiseptic properties, honey works wonders on oily and acne-prone skin. Honey combined with a few drops of lemon helps control excess oil on face and results in healthier-looking skin. Just make a smooth paste and leave it on your skin for 15 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water. These homemade face masks are super simple to prepare as most of the ingredients are readily available right in your kitchen. So, go ahead and apply these to get the glowing skin you have always wanted.
