6 Tips to make a healthy conversation

Having a healthy conversation is like building blocks in maintaining relationships and can generate a lot of information. In a simple way conversation is just a dialogue of thoughts and ideas that build opportunities and discover new information but many of us are not much talkative or outgoing, and even don’t know basic conversation skills to have a healthy conversation. Having a healthy conversation is necessary for every area whether it is professional or social. So, there are some tips which we can add to our daily conversation to make it a healthy one.

1. Be a good listener

Active listening is most important to make a healthy conversation. If the person who is talking with you notice that your attention is somewhere else, they will lose interest in talking to you. So, switch off the TV or stop glancing at your phone every five seconds. Give attention to the person who is talking with you. Don’t be focused on what you should say next, you will be given the opportunity to share your thoughts.

2. Make eye contact

Making eye contact turns a bad conversation also in a good one. Eye contact does not mean to stare at the speaker’s eye continuously, you can look somewhere close like there forehead or nose. Making eye contact is a good gesture that tells the speaker that you are paying attention to the conversation.

3. Do not make it about yourself

Most people love to talk about themselves. If your friend is talking about his profession and you turn the matter to yourself, it is not a good thing to do in between a conversation.  The best conversation is that in which speakers take an interest in each other’s world. Always listen and hear another party first, without making your own offerings.

4. Smile

Making a good conversation has nothing to do with your talking but your body actions also play an important role. So smile to create a warm and welcoming environment for other people. Smile and other signals of the body can have a tangible effect on your tone, and therefore the conversation as a whole.

Start a conversation with a compliment. It makes a person feel good about them and they willingly participate in your conversation.

6. Ask Questions

If you want to make a real conversation ask them a question it makes other people feel that you are showing interest in his talk and you want to know more.

Don’t try to force the topic on someone. The key to making a successful conversation is to do it in a nice way.
